I've had 2 and I wish they had been created much sooner. The SRT, My favorite car EVER owned.
8,000 very hard miles, and the car still runs fantastic, only problem so far the alternator got fried when the dealer powerwashed the engine after a hard test drive =P.
I have had mine for a about a year and a half and put on 10K miles during that time. It now has 19.5K. Perfect car! No issues. I do know the the previous owner had the intercooler pump replaced under warranty (common problem) and also the left rear axle (not common) for some reason. Great car! I don't think I will ever sell it.
I,too am rather new to the forum and my SRT6.I have owned it about 3mos. now.I have been reading the forum for about a yr. The car still astounds me everytime I drive it.To me it seems like about half of the owners of 6's are just avg. drivers looking for cool car to play with and maintain. Then the other half seem to push'em to the limit in every way-performance mods,1/4 mile racing and just run the hell out of them.
And what gets me is these cars are taking everything thats being thrown at them. When do you see posts about blowing motors, eating pistons, busting driveshafts, gutting trannies etc......
To me these are one "tuff built cars" and the desire to make them even faster, better performing is very hard to resist. When I bought mine part of the deal was the 8/80 warranty thrown in(I was really worried about things breaking and the expense of repairs) I picked mine up for $18600 incl warranty-8600 miles. But after driving it a few months and reading everyones posts on how they drive them, I am not really too concerned about reliability anymore. And a few mods will probably be in the future.I dont race and dont have that desire anymore, but the desire to play with it is overwhelming every time I drive the dam thing LOL. No.1 fun car that I have ever owned(and I have owned alot of them)------------Dave

i concur. every time i give someone a ride, when that whole-car whoosh comes on...(never contemplating the warp speed button cause that's a nuther thing altogether).
I drove a Camaro Z28 for 14 years. The Z28 is now parked along side the SRT-6. Today, my SRT-6 with 42K miles gives me more excitement than the Z28 gave me back in 94' when it was new. You will most likely get the transmission oil leak that is easily fixed and maybe the IC pump thing (still waiting for that one). I just spent the past DIY weekend swapping out the supercharger on my SRT and it looks like that was really unnecessary (read on).
As far as warranties go, I am now faced with the decision of getting an extended 7/100K for ~$2K or just fixing things myself when they go bad. Both Chrysler and MS techs had me convinced that I needed a new SC (one wanted $6K, the other $3K) to fix a noise coming from the pulley area. Looks like both were wrong about that. Same local Chrysler dealership also said they could not put an extended warranty on my car (05 SRT with 42K mile) and it looks like that was also dead wrong. Chrysler's on-line store offers an extended warranty if your car has expired 3/36 and you have under 5yrs/48K miles. I'm not sure I'm up for a constant battle with this dealer who has not been all that right in the past.
All that said, bottom line that most all of us agree on is this car is without a doubt AN ABSOLUTE SCREAMER !!!!

I have 10k on my SRT my wifes NA roadster has 27k on it. No problems to date. Love ther SRT the NA does not have enough power for me. But when the suns out in FL, it is nice to put the top down and cruise. Welcome and hope you have many more miles to go on your SRT.
P.S
The only car I love driving more is my 93 RX7TT. It is just pure fun!

I have two.
ERRRRRRRRRRR I have one and my daughter has one. Excellent automobiles. Standard problems. ie IC pump, roadster top, heater seats.
Love the ride. Wife sez I spend too much time cleaning her.
Only problem I have had is keeping tread on the rear tires... The SRT6 loves mods and most improve exponentially when combined with other mods (IE pulleys with intake). Mentioned above, the trans leak occures frim a $15 electrical connector bushing that goes into the side of the trans housing. The 722.6 trans its self is pretty much bullet proof.

I have a few cool/affordable performance cars(see mycar gallery) to have a somewhat well rounded opinion! The srt is in a class by itself with power and cornering ability let alone, affordability, easy to work on, rarity, dependability, and above all other things a dedicated forum with the most friendly and knowledgeable people to help you with anything you could probably think of!
Enjoy your sweet ride and enjoy the family you've become a member of in this forum!
