Talking A long winters nap

For those who wanna put their toy up for the winter, Id like to offer a few ideas that may be of interest. These items will assist in setting the Crossfire up for a long winters nap,

With the addition of a battery trickle charger your battery will be kept at its full potential and not become discharged or sulfated due to inactivity. They are cheap and are worth the investment in battery costs alone. ($ 18) I personally use a desulphator type trickle charger as they are reported to help to gain capacity in used batteries,

Another hint is to check tire pressure so that they are filled up with the falling temperatures. A full tank of fuel also reduces condensation caused by temp and air pressure changes. If you do not have a car cover, the placement of a simple sheet over the car will keep the dust and grime off in a garaged area.

Finally if your oil change is even near due, Id recommend that you consider changing it before storage. This will remove the moisture and acids built up from driving, rather than let it sit in the engine for month(s). This is a good time to check the fluids also.

When Spring arrives you will be ready to crank it up without concern, and hit the road.

BTW if you can remember, dont start the engine, bump the starter to turn over the motor briefly to get the oil moving without starting the motor, a couple of times. For my increasingly idle challenger, I have a stored oil pressure accumulator so the bearings are wet before I hit the key(20# psig).
