Ok. Fly me down there to Florida. I will charge a conservative $50 an hour to teach you guys the basics of drag racing. In this class you will learn how to strap on your helmet and buckle your safety belt. We will then get into the more advanced techniques like starting the car and even driving it!! :P

I posted this on the G8 forum

On one of them I was screwing with my dashhawk in the lights and the guy got out on me by a LOT (my RT 1.736, his .079). I was still past him just after hitting second gear. The faster of the 2 Chryslers ran 9.218.

Condition were horrible, 90 degrees, lots of humidity, no room to get around the water box, tons of mosquitos. Best run I could manage was a 9.011 at 80.2 mph. Had a good time though

Interesting reading. Please come back this Wednesday to play some more. LOL There will be 4 SRT6's there with various minor mods. No nitrious.

I can't remember getting beat by you unless it was a complete washout at the line which is not out of the question at Countyline. But, if you got beat from the line w/o the normal spinning of the tires I really doubt you could beat an SRT6 Crossfire. Seriously though, I think my 18 yo daughter whose stock black roadster SRT with the red rims should not have any problem beating you.

A little ribbing is healthy. Hope to see you Wed. The temps should be good. Maybe 65-70.

PS Most of my times @ the normal 88-90 degrees are betwwen 8.3 and 8.6 and of course the spinout times w/o any traction up to 9.2.

Randy

Lol, I was just joking about the dodge stratus thread. they have a 1/8 mile time of about 12@65mph lol.

Can you bring down some slicks and teach the guys to prep the track?Getting off the line is not a problem as much as the tires spinning because of the track, not the driver. And always run in the right lane. It is the lesser of 2 evils.

You are welcome to come on down. You can even use my helmut and I will start the SRT and turn off the TC for you. LOL

If I had a job where I could take off on a days notice I'd be down there to get some 8.5 runs in with a basic setup and crap tires. Our cars should run below a 9.0 every time no matter what temp and track setup

Agreed. But, when your adrenaline is pumping and the light turns green and you smash your foot to the floor and you spin your tires for 30 feet and the SRT wants to go sideways and turned off TC kicks on anyways and straightens you out and and and LOL you hit a 9.0.

Hows was that for a run on sentence.

Mike you can come over on a Friday or Sat and run with us any time.

I would have to guess with your mods you should be able to beat him with traction control on. Just feather the throttle at launch and then let her run.

So true. Sometimes though the man part of the brain takes over whereby the thinking process goes out the window. Kind of like when FP sees a photo of a beautiful young lady and his and most mens normal thinking abilities to control their internal and external behavior modes cease to function. Well they function, but their animalistic instincts are overbearing and take over momentarily. End results 9.0.

Probably a true statement. I didn't want to be accused of exagerating. You know how those XF forum members can be. LOL

Would love to, I've got my launch down pat, granted some are better than others but out of the last 10 runs I don't think my 60' times have been above 2.1 but once. Also, my last 4 runs have been in the 13.1x (with a little help of the weather).

If I ever do come out, I'd love to take your car out with the mods it has over mine to see what it can run. I might however have a pulley/tune around xmas anyway, but it's just trying to keep it all that power on the ground

my 60' has been 1.89 to 1.98 in the last 15 runs out of 22 and the 7 runs i spun half way down the track. 60' were 2.1 to 3.0,,,

Morosso opens Nov 8 , 1/4 mile track,, so one weekend we could all meet at morroso palm beach fl they some times have a midnight madness open from 6 pm til 2 am on a friday night ,,and then the next time we meet in orlando , and have some fun at the track, where crossfire will win.

Yeah, I definitely need to get rid of these All-Season tires, I can barely crack the 2 sec mark with them. If I push them too much they spin like heck. I'd love to invest in some DRs but they're kind of hard to travel with in a roadster

I probably should have specified that I've been within .1 sec in my 60's so my launch is consistent.

We could make a date sometime in December that we could all go to. My November is booked full every weekend so I won't be able to make it to anything next month but I've got nothing going on in December until Xmas arrives

Sometimes tires don't help. I went to race in NM this past weekend and DA went as high as 9600'. My 60' times were 2.00's only cracked below once all weekend when DA fell to 8100'. My poor car needed oxygen in that DA.

My street tires are Bridgestones and they love to spin if I lunch over 1500 rpm. My best 60 foot time is 1.91. Jim has been @ 1.8?. His tire pressure is normally 32 lbs or less which probably helps his traction.

RMADERMAN you should post up MD's youtube video and tell them your buddy is coming. That should set them straight.

This was just posted on the G8 forum by wreckwriter:

I can't say why I beat the 2 that I did but I'm not making this up, i did beat them. Yes, conditions were horrible but they were horrible for me too. Wheelspin? Maybe but wheelspin for me too. Tonight should tell the tale, conditions should be pretty much perfect; at least as perfect as they get at Countyline...

I'm looking forward to it, win or lose. Hopefully there'll be a couple other G8s too, I'll be the louder gray one. Would like to run the fastest of the X-Fires first if possible.
