Default CAD Mandrel Bent Exhaust

My car is going over to Kooks Headers on Nov,11. Here is the deal. They are going to remove the factory exhaust right in front of the secondary cats. With the secondary cats gone they are going to custom make a 304 stainless system that slip joints on with 3" stainless band clamps. Both 2.5" ID pipes will run on the drivers side of the differential to avoid removing the protective shielding around the fuel pump. There will be two round tube racing mufflers made by Kooks that look just like the Magnaflow 14160's. installed using my factory tips. There will also be another slip joint to allow ease of removal and installation. The system will have no welds and is all mandrel bent using 304 stainless, mufflers are also polished 304. This is what is planned, if anyone else is interested in this set-up just the way it is let me know and I will see if they will make another system or save the file. Price should be between 700-800. I don't know if they will make another system or just say it isn't worth while, I guess it all depends on how much time the actual system takes to fabricate on my car.

It would be awesome if Kooks made long tube headers for our cars.

Yup, but lots of members here wouldnt be able to put them on themselves, would gripe about them not mating to factory exhaust, would want proven dyno numbers, and wouldnt be willing to pay what Kooks would have to ask to make such small quantity for such limited production vehicles.

Just a hunch.

It's true but the other side of the coin is that kooks may not want to even bother. They are looking at my car as a mock up unit. I asked if they would be interested in making a few sets, the answer was it really depends on how it goes once your car is up in the air, and we'll decide from there.

A bolt on system would be nice for those of us concerned with warranty issues.
Just thought about it, shipping is gonna be pricey.

Tightened I would guess 50-75 shipped. They are making it in two pieces so boxes should be no longer then 4ft by 2ft, and under 25lb each. But then it is all speculation to this point.

Kooks Custom Headers, 200 Candlewood Road Bayshore NY. Loud, is a relative or subjective term. With front cats still on and twin bullet style mufflers on a V6, I am still willing to bet it is quieter then my wife's viper with the billy boats and high flow cats. Her car is pretty loud. You can hear it on hard acceleration 3 blocks away.
