Didn't hear any valve float at 7K (which I will add that I never want to do again) when I dropped gears and ended up in 2nd instead of 4th. These cars are very well built engine-wise. Wish I could say the same about the little pesky interior stuff but that's a whole other can of worms.
My tranny has a slow grabbing shift between 3 and 4 so if I floor it I easily go into the 6K+ range during that shift. I usually have to let off the pedal for a second to give the car a chance to shift or else the RPMs will just keep shooting up.
Point being... My srt has no computer tuning and yeah it does it.
Like everyone else has already said. Rendering my response useless.

I almost hate to disagree with members, but being your way off I MUST.
I am not sure how you drive your Crossfire but do you EVER open it up?
The Aluminum and Magnesium block & heads, 12 plugged 18 valved 3.2 Mercedes Benz engine that is in your Crossfire is by no means an engine that would EVER float the valves @ 6000 RPM. I had my 04 Limited past 6 grand often. I have had my Modified SRT Crossfire to 174mph with lots left. Hell I've had it to 150 in 4th gear. If you had ever seen the internals of this engine and seen how much it resembles a tank such a remark would never have been uddered.
You need to get out and push some limits.

My car hit 5999.99rpms the other day and I thought I was done for! Talk about a scare!
Some tachs cant keep up with EXACTLY what rpm the engine is at....for that you would need a datalogger of some sort.
The engine might be shifting at 5800-5900 but the response time for the already quickly moving tach needle is too slow and goes to 6100 before falling back. Ive heard of this before.

Dear Mikey,
If I would would have only known how offended you would become at my post that indicated
that the gents problem SOUNDED like floating valves, I can assure you that I wouldn't
have even considered "uddering" it.
Concerning your demonstration of driving skill at speeds that would indicate you
might not be too stable, hang in there bud, wind that MB powerplant a little bit
tighter and I'm sure you'll be able hit the magic 200 mark.
By the way, since you seem to use the word "udder" so freely, would that
indicate that you've had carnal knowledge of some of your local Montana cattle
or are you just a milk maid in disguise.
And above all, thanks for all the info on the XF. I'm sure I'll be receiving
more love notes from you quite soon. Love and Kisses, jimmyjet.
