my mate did use the same style of racing method, and i best beat him when we were going between 30-40 mph...off the launch we were neck and neck for about 3 seconds then i was off to the races

Thats decent, u got bragging rights, i hope to as well come the end of january. Just watch out he doesnt get a JB3, that transforms the car at a reasonable price and can be taken off very easily to not void warranty.

^^^^^^^+1

335is with fmic, turboback, piggayback (such as JB3, Helix Attache, Procede, etc.), and intake are trapping 115+ (some 117-118 on race gas).

launch with esp off. after practing your launches, you will know when you can speed up the feathering and really mash it to hook up and not lose traction

I have a heavily modded 135i that I drive. I have also driven a few forum members SRT6's at the track and on the street.

The X-fire will take me all day long...

I have JB3, Downpipes, Exhaust, Intake, Intercooler.

How in the world can you brake launch at 1800 rpms on street tires in the real world without spinning like heck and getting slaughtered off the line? I try to launch at 1800 rpms at the track with drag radials and spin excessively getting my butt handed to me every time. Doesn't make sense how you can launch like that.

well my car is completely stock...your SRT-6 has very nice mods done to it as you advertise. for that reason i could only assume your tires spin because you have more power than my SRT-6

Have u raced a srt6 vs your 135i whilst both in stock form? Do u have a coupe? Your obviously losing to a modded srt6 with your jb3 right. Im more so interested in a street race.. straight line races.

On the way to the track I was having a hard time hanging with the SRT. If we raced from 60+mph I would win....

I have not raced stock for stock, but I would be willing to bet that the SRT would win in a red light race. My car put down almost 281Whp stock. However, the SRT has a massive amount of trq available at low RPM's.

Thats interesting. I always thought the 135 was very fast in the low end with its flat torque at 1300rpm. BMW did a great job with the twin turbo to prevent turbo lag for a linear drive and an even better job on the N54? engine of the year. I have driven the 135 and i really liked it. I always would have thought the 135 would get a better launch and that the srt would be better on the roll as it has great mid range power. My mate is getting a 135 in january and is thinking of getting a jb3, does it make a massive difference? What would be your best bet off the 1/4 with that mod alone?
