Code3 SPEARCO-Intercooler
Hi Guys,
what do you think of the problems with the new Code3-IC??
I have not got mine yet, but already paid and I'm really frustrated now...
Fittings welded "off", Air to Air -Core ?, no O-Ring flange... How will this work and reduce IATs ??? No comments anymore from Code3 ???
Please check the thread on MB-World (last Page)

However as you can see in that thread.. It may have to go that way.

I have been following that thread for a long time and originally thought, that's great...a nice after market replacement that is bigger and should be cooler. After seeing all the delays and now the end product, it is very disappointing. Fortunately, I dont have any money tied up waiting for the part. Sorry to see this for those that do.
ACRucrazy...are you sure that the cores are air to air and not air to liquid? Just asking.

So Part of me knows Brandon will do the right thing as a business owner the other part of me as a business owner feels his pain on how hard it is to deliever and sometimes it is better to build the products before you sell them. That is easier said then done when you have such a small market of car owners. Case in point I hope all the money didnt go to financing these and the resiviors.
End of my 2 cents I feel both sides pain best thing to do is just give it a little more time

Lets just say brandon built the first one himself and outsourced the work to someone else for the buy. No harm no fowl there, but you just added another variable into the mix. You hope the guy copies the design exactly and hope he isnt cutting corners to meet a deadline he thought he could meet. Believe it or not no one cares that your painter is blowing your projects off because he has work that is making him more money for less detail, no one cares that products on back order and no one cares that the design is close to the picture they want it exact and they want it when you said they would get it. It looks bad on your part and you can only say they will ship in a few days so many times before fuse runs out.

From someone who purchased the item, all I would need is a status. A quick post like hey guys here is whats going on, sorry for the delay would be all it would take.....

I requested a refund today for product not received. If I don't hear anything by monday I am going to fill out a dispute claim with my credit card.
Some Water to Air Intercoolers that you can buy online do not contain true water to air cores. (like this code 3 intercooler)
A true water to air core has water passages that are much smaller than the air passages. This is part of what allows the water to air intercooler to be so small and have such low pressure drop. Some water to air intercoolers that you buy online use an air to air core design where the air passages for ambient air and intake air are the same size, with an enormous loss of efficiency.
Now I have no idea if the Spearco cores are like this, but since Spearco has a listing for air cores and liquid cores I would have to assume there is a difference. Again, the C3 IC used air to air cores and advertised them as liquid cores.
