Looks like Fiat is going for 35% of Chrysler for starters (no pun intended). They can get up to 55% eventually. Cerebrus wants to retain a stake in Chrysler also. This is preliminary breaking news from CNBC.

 

One of my favorite cars was a 500cc Fiat Bianchina....Rusted away.....

 

Seems like I remember they used some poor quality Soviet (?) steel in the 60's and 70's. Never see any 124s anymore either. Same issue.

 

Fiat Spider was a nice little two seater.

 

Remember, the Chrysler/GM merger was a "done deal", too. Twice.

Until papers are signed, this is just speculation.

 

its a stock swap, not a takover. and it may be a great thing to keep Chrysler alive until they can get healthy again after Daimler basically killed them.

My favorite car was the Fiat UNO. I loved that car!

 

Wow ... that would mean Fiat would have a piece of all of my road cars.

Especially interesting for the Crossfire -- American branded, German built, (potentially) partially Italian run ... just about has my bloodline covered.
