Before we tar all the car salesman as bad guys, remember that they're in business to make a buck just like all of us. Right now they have to put up with fickle buyers and a very volatile to non-existent car market. I'm sure you'd consider your stockbroker a scum bag too if you look at your 401k. Or the guy who fixes your furnace at a premium price on Christmas day.

That being said, I would line up to buy another SRT6 (specifically a nice graphite gray roadster) for $10-11k. If you hear of one, let me know. Not sure where I would get the money....wait a minute....I know....my kids don't HAVE to go to college.

If you want one that is in average condition that needs serviced, new tires, and has dents, dings, and scratches then I can get you one for 12.5k. If you want one ready to go with low mileage in showroom condition then it's going to be 14k - 15k.
I'll take a Coupe in any color but black for 14K, what do you consider low mileage?\
Thanks

Unfortunately, you only see a couple of these come through each week, so it's not like you can pick and choose. You have to be patient. For instance, there are 4 coming through next week:

'05 Coupe Black/Black 28k miles, needs probably 1k in work (scratches, tires, dents, etc) that we can sell for probably 13.5k - 14k.

'05 Coupe Black/Black 37k miles, about the same condition as above that would be sold for around 13k to 13.5k.

The other two are 'verts.

These are all SRT6's right? Seems like an awful lot of them in one area.

I'm sorry but I have a hard time believing this, I've done quite a bit of shopping, research and comparing. However you did use a few classic key words such as "probably" and "around" to buffer your claim.

If you are doing this I'll be the first to buy one from you. I'm in the market for an SRT-6 roadster. I'm sure many others on this forum will line up as well. Please let us know.

Well, it's very hard to pin down a specific price because every single vehicle is different and can be in very different conditions. I'm just giving you a range based on what I've seen from recent sales. We are a small independent dealership out of Indianapolis that relies on customizing for the majority of our profits. This allows us to sell at a much lower price than most. And frankly, the SRT-6 isn't in that much demand around here, so it's not hard to buy one at a good price if you can find one.

Just to let you know the range on the roadsters that sold recently:

All '05's:

Gray 29k miles $15k
Gray 31k miles $15.8k
Blue 17k miles $16.5k
Black 24k miles $15.4k
Black 18k miles $15k

We would charge $500 over buy price and any expenses/fees incurred, which would be discussed before purchase. If you're going to get a roadster, I would stronly suggest that you do so in the next few weeks. Prices on convertibles will really start to increase dramatically towards the end of Feb as dealers start to stock up for spring.

Respectable prices for wholesale auctions. Again your saying you have seen SRT6 coupes go for 10k at auction? I will check manheim here in AZ, still don't get many for sale at auction.

I think soon enough(3-5 yrs) the only owners of srt6's will be performance enthusiest's...hopefully most owners will become members on this site, just like the Supra guys. No one owns a turbo Supra on accident, they bought the car knwing exactly what it was. In the next few years we will have all the bugs worked out and we will all own 11 sec monsters.

At that point in time WE control the market. Funny how a turbo Supra was 20G's bare minimum 5 years ago and its at least that still today...same concept.

The problem with comparing Crossfires with Supras is.................LOTS of people actually want Supras. The amount of people that actually want a Crossfire(of any kind) is few and far between. I've had countless people tell me they hate the looks of Crossfires and the few that do like them generally don't have(or want to spend) the money on one.

I have to agree. I honestly felt indifferent about dealers when I got in this business, but after seeing what most dealers try to get away with it's pretty alarming. Just to let you know, I was an investment manager at a bank, and one of my friends and I bought and sold cars on the side just for fun, so we decided to start a car business. That was 2 years ago.

Indyjoe, if you have a clean (1-owner/no accidents), low milage (under 25k), for $15k I'll fly out purchase it and drive it back to NJ. PM me details- thanks!

PS This is about 5-7k UNDER what I've seen every other dealer sell them for! Thank you!!!!
