Check eng lite came on today, Cathy says its my fault
Check engine light came on today on Cathy's SRT. It didn't happen when I was driving just when she got in, but I guess it's my fault, after all I am the GUY.
We drove sanely all weekend so it isn't from trying to out do RIOT's burn out performance. Got told a definite NO-NO-NO! on that.
I noticed gas milage down about 10% on the way home and the exhaust pipes are dark. Must be burning rich.
Could it be an O2 sensor?

My exhaust pipes are always dark.
Could be the O2.
Time to get the code checker out! Let us know what comes up.

My pipes are always dark also.... on the SSB(stock) and the Aero(moded).... what he said about the OBDII reader....
Concur with checking codes out of ODBII.
If you don't have one, I'd recommend getting one. Very nice to know diagnostic codes even if you have it serviced by a dealer.

Tighten the gas cap and pull the battery cable to reset it...then drive it and see if it happemns again....then check the code....lot cheaper then buying a new tool first.
Don't disconnect the battery, just drive to Autozone they will read the codes for free. Disconnecting the battery erases the data stored for the emission sensors.
Hey franc, quick question regarding this........
I assume you are still running the same tune as when bike cop had the car? And has anything changed since purchase or tune...ie added subtracted.
I know we had tuned for water meth on that car. If that was removed it will need to be reflashed.
If that is the case let me know. I will get the car reflashed so she is running right at no charge.
and for what its worth.....it probably was your fault, you were within 50 feet of the car.

OBDII reader is a must with this car. Not to mention the aggrevation it saves you and the piece of mind it gives you to post your code and find out its nothing bad.
Franc,
I've seen you drive, and what you consider normal may be considered aggressive to some of us old folks.
I experience black exhaust tips, too. Hopefully your CEL isn't similar to the gremlin I had just before the dragon.

RIOT, you da MAN! Worked first time.
Then I read Bulldogger. NOW WHAT!?!
RODIMUS, I did open the hood to check the engine. IT WAS STILL THERE.
Again, "Now what!?!
Jake, Cathy says you can give her a tune up next time she's in Chicago. (I didn't even know she was going there.)
Thanks again guys. Always a pleasure.

Who makes the "Exploder" or was that a freudian thing?

Well that's all I had.... lol
If you saw the engine was there everything should be good, the car asked you to check the engine and you did.
The thing is just too picky!!

Thinking about getting one but want a good one with all the codes.
Nate, I have an Innova 3130 that I like a lot. It reads everything and you can do a record of about 5 seconds(?) of data with it if you want.
