Default OHHHH... changed CAI...

After discussions with, Sen sey (japanese translation for teacher) "Waldig" I purchased a second Needswings CAI to complete what I was lookng for, a balanced look for the performance of the car.

My goal is purely cosmetic and I claim no gains or losses in HP or TRQ. This is not the last change but, the first.

The bag covered one of the two inlets, the difference with and without was 35 HP on the dyno at the low end, see the dyno chart in the signature below Please.

Punkin, if you ask Rob he'll get you another needswing logo so that the intake is really balanced in appearance. Looks good now drive that sucker and feel the difference, now youll have to take off with a light touch or from a roll to keep wheel spin down. Woody

I have contacted Rob and am getting two new tubes made for me. These will be longer so as to extend closer to the front grill and hide some of the black tubing that extends through the grill area. He is going to place the needswings logo on each. Then I want to powdercoat the tubes and intake manifolds the same color.

You can't beat getting performance and looks at the same time. Thanks for the help Prof.

Cross><hair, I'll get right on that cleanup.

The Y tube is two elbows cut and put together via silicon.

So you are making them yourselves? Wow. If there is a definitive benefit to having 2 intakes then I think it's only a matter of time before Rob releases a kit to allow this. That looks alike quite a LOT of work!

Btw, my valve cover was pretty cruddy too but I think you have me beat.

You guyz are all pressuring the power curve. These products were to be rolled out slowly in the spring so as not to kill the golden goose, ROB. I do the design and others are doing the work. Notice how that saves me from the worry of doing another business, have one, had more , dont want to do cars, they are too much fun and I wanna enjoy them. If they paid me then cars would become work.....uyyyyuuuuckie. Never make your hobbie your job, then youll not be able to play, something about the paycheck thinggie.

The elbows are easy to do and they are shown on my gallery under elbows. But wait there is a whole kit in production including wyes, just takes the elves a bit of time to create these things. This is all part of my third project, now I gotta get back to #5 the hood.

That is the exact reason why I am not a service technician anymore.... The money was good but I enjoyed wrenching on cars as a hobby... and at the end of the day/week of working at Toyota, I didnt want to touch my car anymore then putting gas in it and driving home.

Very cool Woody- I'm relatively new here but I've always enjoyed your posts describing all the R&D you do with various parts despite it occasionally being above my head a bit. I'm completely NOT the mechanical type. Ask me anything about video, photo, audio, post-production etc and I'll give you more than an ear-full.

I didn't know you designed parts for Rob, very cool. Are you the one that designed the CAI? How about the Manis? What about that super cool H/E upgrade you wrote about?!

I don't want to hurt the golden goose- quite the opposite in fact. I plan on purchasing everything you guys produce! I appreciate Rob's excellent customer service and the great parts you guys are producing for our cars. Heck, I'm NOT one to plaster vinyl sticker for performance company names unless they are sponsoring me however I DO have a "needswings.com" vinyl in both rear windows. I'm more than happy to support you guys any way I can.

240 does not approve of cutting and splicing two elbows together with silicone.

Why not have an aluminum one made that will never separate at the seam.

240, I wondered about splitting myself but if it's good for the Prof, it's good enough for me. Now that being said, I would like to get a wye that I can powdercoat for the best looks. That will come with time and opportunity.

I just got back from a long test drive and the caboose dyno was very happy. I also pulled and tugged to insure it stayed intact. I will keep a close eye on it.

Vlad @ VRP used a SL55 Y for his custom dual intake for one of his customers with a SLK32 - plus you can connect the PCV vent to the Y

Rob did the inital CAI install but being Lesdecix I put it on wrong and then added the second one correctly gaining 35 HP below 3000 see dyno chart below..........AAARRRUUUGH I cant get Rob or Pumpkin to report on the gains, but Rob is under the weather for a few days so he gets a pass.

I did the blue vinyl which is over a year and Rob has my proto type silicon, RTV will glue the silicon like its never coming off (if clean).

Rob is the company and I just give him ideas, he turns all the gizmos that causes product to turn out. Were not afilliated, just that he talks to me nice and does not call me a dummy; much. To date the oil catch can ( I called it the super separator) and the Super cooler are on the air. The CAI squared is still getting set for kitting and coming. Others are out there, all the while Iam playing the proud parent for these projects, and I have to do no work or even clean the diapers, ta daa.

Woman walks into court to defend herself from child abuse, when the Judge asks why her kid had not had clean diapers in 6 days. She replies: I did not think it was needed, Durn the box said that the diapers were good up to 25 pounds!!!!!!!!
