Default AC from cabin pumped through intercooler core???

I was experienceing some high intake temps the other night. When I got home my CM30 pump was very hot! I think it is because of my bad design due to the limited underhood space. It's not being gravity fed and is having to suck and overheating/working it. I am probally going to upgrade from my one gallon tank to a 3 or 4 and put it in the trunk.
So while I have it apart I might do a little experiment. I closed all the upper vents blocked the drivers side foot vent and put a 3/4" heater hose up the passenger side foot vent. Cranked up the AC and it was blowing a pretty good amount of cold air. I was thinking of trying to hook this line straight to the intercooler inlet?? What do you think?
My other option was to somehow make a heatsink for the tank in the trunk that the air could flow through and possibly cool the coolant for the IC system? I know there was an old thread that talked about using the AC but I don't recall if it went anywhere. I'll probally try it anyway unless someone has a good reason not to.

seriously though, the a/c will use up more hp than you will gain from the cooler air.

Doesn't the AC system shut off at WOT so you would'nt lose power when you need it....just an idea...

I hate to but I must agree with Mr.Photoman. I wish he would stop doing that.
Why would you consume HP cooling to get a bit more boost? You lose 15 HP with the AC on.

Try a bag of Ice. They sell it for a buck at the 7/11.

alcohol injection would really help you down there in that hot and humid enviroment.

That was my thought, so no HP loss I have used Ice in my 1 gallon tank but it barley lasts for one pass, hence the reason to upgrade to a 3-4 gallon tank. I'm not trying to be some ricer, there have been cars that used the AC system to cool the charge, but not quite like i am sugesting. I'd just thought I'd give it a shot while I have the lines off.

I justed watched the video I'm not talking about trying to feed the engine with the AC(no where near enough CFM). I'm talking about feeding the intercooler.

Wow! That's exactly what I was talking about in my second idea above. Using the AC to cool the coolant. I had thought about a secondary tank and switching back and forth but hadn't quite figured out how to do it. Nice find!

a bag of ice on top your supercharger at the track would work about 100x faster

Been there done that. It's messy. Ice in the tank works 100x better That's all good but my local track ahas closed forever and it's not practical to drive on the streets with a bag of ice under your hood. I haved pondered the water/meth but to properly set a system up you need to tune it on a dyno. Besides I have something that works a little better than meth injection when I need it. Just gotta get around to changing the plugs so I can test it.

Chiromikey has a second tank in the trunk he stuffs with ice much like brian braves, but also has a second pump mounted in back. That may help your overall cooling for some autox or drag racing but not much help with everyday driving.
