If you decode the VIN, it checks out to be a SRT6.

 

I cant wait until this car is gone so i can quit seeing threads about it.

It's more than likely a SRT.

To be honest.....the only things I like about the SRT better than my limited are the engine and front fascia. If I had a SRT I'd be inclined to swap out for the limited pieces. That looks to be what this guy did. He has seats that are nor SRT or limited. He put on a limited trunk with spoiler, and swapped out for the stock wheels. All these are fairly easy and straight forward.

On the other hand he has a AMG supercharged engine......not an easy swap. He also has the SRT speedometer and SRT tachometer. Not so easy to swap those, and aside from the logo the SRT and limited tachometers are the same.

I bet it's a SRT.....just my $.02!

 

What an odd ball car. If the VIN says it is an SRT it probably is. I can understand someone changing it to look like an limited, but if you look the brakes are not SRT. Why would someone go to all the trouble of downgrading the brakes? Maybe this car was stolen and stripped and rebiult with base model parts?

 

Definitely not an SRT6! its a wanna-be srt. yes its got the engine and the srt dash.... but the previous owner forgot to replace the front and rear brakes they are from the standard crossfire.

 

Deductive logic tells me that this was a forum members car that got repossessed. Now if we all recall, there was a second forum member selling a Base Coupe that looked like an SRT6. And here we have an SRT6 that looks like a base coupe (minus the black color). I think SRT owner sold everything off the car he could to the base coupe guy before the repo guy showed up!!! That would account for the base coupe seats, and the mystery black front bumper on this car. This is in fact a SRT6, VIN's don' t lie~ They just traded parts everyone! Oh...and the owners of both cars, and this dealership just happen to live in Florida.

Good detective work..................I agree with you and your findings. I can't believe that the stealership with the "real" SRT didn't bother to have the front bumper painted the right color though.

QUIT OVERTHINKING IT!!! THIS CAR HAS HAD SEVERAL THREADS CREATED ABOUT IT ALREADY. IT IS AN SRT-6, WHICH THE OWNER SOLD THE SRT BRAKES, SEATS, HATCH, FRONT BUMPER AND WHEELS OFF IT BEFORE HE GAVE IT BACK TO THE BANK!

Hey ebay searchers find me a cheap e55 amg engine. Cheapest one i have found was 10k and the guy said he would throw in the ecu for free....lol lucky me.

I have thought about buying an e55 swapping engines and selling e55 to carmax, how do yall like that idea?
