Not that I care, but...
It is amazing how things change in just a short time. When I first picked up my car back in '07, I thought people would wreck from turning their heads to check out the car. Now, even with the wheels and drop, the car barely gets a glance. I assume it's because people finally figured out that the cars are inexpensive, or perhaps it's due to Chrysler's current financial woes. Hmmm, maybe it's because I now live in the DC area, and nothing really gets looked at unless it's a Bentley or similar high status car. Like I said, I don't care, but it's just an observation. I love the car and it really is stunning. I've always been a fan of the daring art deco design, strakes and all! There simply is nothing else on the road like it.
Maybe you don't get a lot of looks in DC, but in FL we literally stop trains! Don't believe me ... ask the folks from the Mt. Dora GTG. A train full of people slowly cruised by, then the conductor stopped the train to ask about the cars! We have LOTS of great cars here, but ours always bring the attention. Four of us went to a local car cruise and we got as much or more attention as any other classic car!
One gets a lot of looks ... 16 will stop traffic ... 60 at the Dragon is a force of nature!

Put another way, Obama/Fiat isn't going to do it. The new CAFE standards prevent it and how long will the new Government Motors Company let the folks in Covington Kentucky build the quentisential American Dream?
That said, I still get looks and a thumbs up, almost daily.

just yesterday i caught a group of guys standing round my car(parked out away from the other cars) outside the gym.
most of the time, i see someone go to the front of the car, then the back of the car looking for a badge or logo to tell them what it is... "what kind of car is this, it's really cool?"
'it's an SRT-6.'
"who makes it?" LOL
....if i had a nickel for every time i've had that dialogue!!!!!

Last Friday I went to pick up a friend at his office for lunch. I was driving the SRT-6 and he had never seen it before (I han't seen him in a couple years). While waiting for him at the building entrance, the car attracted quite a crowd. People saying "what is it?". All of them didn't know that the Crossfire is really a MB under the body much less AMG for the SRT-6.
If I said it once, I've said a thousand times...the Chrysler guys missed a chance to do something with this car...but look at them now...takin' over by the gov't...they were more interested in the 'Viper and the bringing back the "muscle" cars, and since this car was built over-seas, they left it as the ******* child of their MB counterparts, well, I am prolly going to buy an MB for sure, when the jeep lease is up. The boys at the US41 day have convinced me that these MB's are not only built to ride and look nice, but they can run as well....

No wonder. Most of the people there think what you are driving is a mortal threat to the planet! If they tell you anything, out the window of their limo, it will be to drive something responsible.

Oh, and in VA, you go the speed limit for sure! You do not want to get a ticket here! If you do, you are treated like a hardened criminal! 20 miles over = huge fines, loss of license, and a possibility for jail time!
went and hung out with a local car club today just a lil picnic and at the end i probably gave 7 rides for people wanting to know about it and see what its got. Easy to say each one of them wanted a xfire after the ride. and they had pretty nice rides themselves but the only guy there that might be able to beat me was the leader of the car club with a mustang that's all modded out
the funny part was when i told them its running rich and I'm getting a pulley kit soon to fix it

...soon I will be able to play a game of pac-man, or galaga.
haha just kidding, reminded me of a line from the movie Role Models.
I work in Oak Brook which is a more wealthy suburb of Chicago. I see a Continental GT, Carrera GT2, and Ferrari a few times every week...mine still gets looks though. Not as many as if I wasn't in such a wealthy neighborhood I think.
The Mustang GT's and M3's hate me though...

You're just getting shunned in the DC area because you drive an American car.
I always thought there was a law in the DC area that mandated that you HAVE to drive a Toyota or Honda.
