Default Selling: startech coupe v8 6.1

STARTECH COUPÉ V8 6.1

6.1 liters displacement from eight cylinders, 426 hp / 313 kW maximum power output, a peak torque of 621 Nm, 0 - 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 300 km/h (= 186 miles/h) : This is an American muscle car made in Germany in the form of the STARTECH Coupe V8 6.1.

The engine bay of the new coupe turned out to be large enough to accommodate the STARTECH V8 6.1 increased-displacement engine, albeit after some modifications. Power is transferred to the rear axle via an electronically controlled five-speed automatic transmission and a custom-developed locking differential.

The STARTECH V8 6.1 engine delivers 426 hp / 313 kW at 5,400 rpm and produces a gigantic peak torque of 621 Nm at 4,100 rpm.

Thus equipped the two-seater coupe turns into a purebred sports car with extreme performance potential: The STARTECH Coupe V8 6.1 takes just 4.7 seconds to accelerate from 0 - 100 km/h. Top speed is 300 km/h.

This kind of performance places highest demands on suspension, brakes and aerodynamics. STARTECH upgrades the two-door also in these areas: The STARTECH sport suspension with gas-pressure shocks, progressive-rate springs and stronger sport sway bars was specifically calibrated to account for the higher weight of the eight-cylinder engine. It offers sporty handling in combination with everyday driving comfort.

The STARTECH suspension concept for the STARTECH Coupe V8 6.1 also comprises custom-tailored tire/wheel combinations with 19- and 20-inch staggered tires. Steering commands are transmitted to Pirelli tires in size 235/35 ZR 19, mounted on one-piece STARTECH Monostar V 8.5Jx19 five-spoke wheels. 255/30 ZR 20 high-performance tires on 9.5Jx20 wheels guarantee maximum traction on the rear axle.

The STARTECH high-performance brake system features six-piston aluminum fixed calipers and 355-mm vented and cross-drilled discs on the front axle in combination with 300-mm discs and four-piston aluminum fixed calipers in back. This system offers maximum stopping power and maximum endurance at all times.

The high speeds attained by the STARTECH Coupe V8 6.1 necessitate optimum aerodynamic efficiency. To reduce lift on the front axle and to give the coupe even more passing prestige STARTECH designers and aerodynamics engineers developed a front spoiler attached to the stock bumper.

The STARTECH side sills provide an optimal aerodynamic transition between the front and rear wheelhouses.

Lift on the rear axle is minimized by the STARTECH diffuser inserts for the stock rear bumper, a STARTECH roof spoiler and the STARTECH rear spoiler, which deploys together with the stock rear spoiler.

Exclusive interior design is another STARTECH specialty. In addition to its performance the STARTECH Coupe V8 6.1 also offers a special ambiance in the cockpit. The company-own upholstery shop created a custom bi-color leather interior crafted from especially soft yet durable black and azure blue Mastik leather.

STARTECH applications from handmade silver exposed carbon for dashboard, center console, door panels, shift **** and emergency brake lever add sporty highlights, as does the ergonomically shaped STARTECH sport steering wheel with airbag.

Brushed stainless-steel sill plates with illuminated STARTECH logo also add exclusive character as do the high-quality STARTECH velour floor mats, the STARTECH cargo cover with partition netting. In addition a Becker navigation system was also integrated in the two-seater's interior.

The STARTECH Coupe V8 6.1 is being hand-built for exhibitions and tests. The vehicle is an absolute unique piece! It´s for driver and also for collectors very interesting!

It runs around 29.000 km and is in a very, very good optical and technical condition!

For us 1/4 milers take it to a track and see what kind of times it will do. I would assume it should be good for 11's in the quarter mile, but that time slip is elusive for many. Good luck with the sale.

$100,000 you've gotta be smoking crack dude, I think maybe if you don't find a sucker you can get $40,000-$50,000 out of it and even then I'm gonna guess it would be a hard sell since said buyer could get a SRT-6 for $20,000 and if they threw $20,000 more at it god knows the power it would make.

but $100,000 wow nuts

Once again someone speaks up.
Look them up online and see what they originally sold for. That could be seen as a bargain!
This isn't some junked up Bastardized coupe some kid shoehorned in a V-8. It was developed as an upscape specialty car. Plus How many have YOU seen?
This is what happens when the bottom falls out of the market as it did for the Crossfires. Camaro drivers end up with them...
Good luck with your sale, It would be a good one to buy and put away
Mike

Considering how bad the US dollar is, this car is in Germany and the ONLY V8 built by Startech. Some collector will buy it. Just look at car auctions and you be amassed how much people pay for collectors items. Just my 2 cents.
Good luck with the sale daun.

I think the 6.1 conversion was approx. $30,000 plus all the other trim peices maybe put it at $40,000. so $40,000 car, $40,000 worth of mods equals $80,000.

I am in no way saying it's not an awesome car, it's fantastic(I would love to have it)but yes $100,000 seems way overpriced to me. to each his own but for $100,000 their or so many other cars I would purchase. I will say I was a little disrespectful in my comments maybe it was the sticker shock. and as far as buying it and putting it away cars are meant to be driven not parked.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only forum member that feels this way

If no one buys it I will probably drive out and check it out, won't buy it sight unseen. Not much modding as it should run 11.50's as is in decent DA. I have someone wanting to trade me a dually for my project 55' belair and that's in CA to look at too. Would have to sell the SRT6 though, as I just bought a new Aspen last week. Do you think having the 2nd fastest SRT6 has any value? Maybe they would take it in trade?

Back on topic sorry for the threadjack. Daun you never know it is one of a kind.

I hope that they get every penny they are asking for that car! The best thing that can happen to our resale values it to have people start paying "too much" for our cars. I hope every new XF owners pays $5K more that I did for their ride - show how valuable our cars really are!!

You can't have it both ways. Can't complain about the bottom falling out of the market and then complain because someone wants more money for their car. What is the value of anything??? Its exactly what people are willing to pay for it!

Quick economics lesson - the higher the prices a car sells for, the better for owners. If you own a Crossfire and you're criticising his asking price, you might want to ask yourself what you're really asking? Porsche owners wised up to this a long time ago.

I'd say sell for $100k. The guy is obviously a collector and the car could end up selling for that much. Who knows. The higher, the better I say.

If I had the money, I'd own one. I'm thinking about the unique factor and hardly any of them around. That's enough for me.It would turn a lot of heads, that's for sure.

One more thing:

Why doesn't a 400+ HP car need a wing and ours do?

agreed that blue is well "god awful", and it's just a limited upconverted to a V-8 with some weird little aero parts added on.
