It's ok take them both to the track and see what they can do. I've taken care of more than a few Z06's even with them on drag radials. They have too much power to put down unless it's on a roll. They are definately harder to launch than the six.

 

I don't care if that was a loss, that video with your SRT6 was excellent! That GM LSX sounds incredible!

Who was using nitrous, you or him? That displacement is hard to overcome on the top end.

 

my only losses so far have been to a new Z06 with intake exhaust and tune and a gutted Volvo 850 Turbo with nitrous that caught on fire at the end of the race!

and i agree, the sound of EVERY LSV8 engine sounds just AWESOME.

To be completely honest, if I blow my motor I want to go the LSx route. The z06 may be the coolest car I will drive in my lifetime and the closer my car feels to it, the happier I will be. I've even considering it with my mustang, they really are great motors. I miss driving a car with torque every day .

 

By the way, those old Trans Am aren't that heavy. I believe they're like 3450lbs. In the late 90's, early 2000's that was pretty heavy, but not nearly by today's standards. I think the new Camaro is 3700-4000lbs.

Hehe, been getting that a lot lately.

Been emailing a few peeps on s/c v8's. So far cheapest i have found is $9500 for the swap, but its the 496 hp one from an s55amg!

BTW the LSX ta weighs almost 4000lbs...

 

Is that the upgraded 520whp TA? I could see it getting to 3600-3800 lbs after putting in an upgraded rear end, an iron block engine, or adding forced induction, but they're 3400-3500 stock.

 

Was it a vert?

Maybe a vert with 2 passengers and a subwoofer box in the back would get it to 4000. Otherwise, I don't think so.

 

Its a t-top, and it does have a huge box with subs...and the block is fully built and 7.0 liters i think(not sure if iron or alum). Dont know how much weight all that adds, but certianly doesnt help...lol.
