Talking Reviewing History again

I wanted to revisit an old idea that is helpful to me and I revised it a bit to be even more useful.

Long time ago I ground off the heads of two bolts to have one for each front wheel when swapping or mounting tires. Now that I have 10mm spacers they are even more useful to hold the spacer and wheel till you get the first bolt in the axle. It really keeps you from slipping the wheel and screwing up the spacer etc. etc........

It is so useful that I even make use of the PAIR of helper bolts on the rear wheels as shown in the photo.

I have also shown the anti seeze lube that I use to LIGHTLY paint the bolts so that they dont Gall up and jamb or break the stud.

I got a set of 18" wheels for autocrossing so that I can rotate the tires and balance the wear, something the stock wheels did not support. Changing wheels is a frequent thing around here, for sure.

Enjoy, Woody

Enjoy, Woody

Local fastener shop, got like 5" length, metric bolts, carry an extra wheel stud in so they understand, or take one off and they will match it. Wheel studs are funny not main stream metric size. Woody
See original listing below please,WW

Hey Waldo,
Has anyone heard why the Europeans use bolts and the U.S. uses studs?
There has got to be some reason behind why they (europeans) use such a pain in the ARSS system. I have owned probably 25 European cars and until you have changed a flat in PI$$ poor weather and in the Dark it only is a minor pain in the ARSS!
The stud seems like a simple fix.
