I seen a SRT-6 sold on ebay for under $12k and it had less miles. It's just sad.

Yup, the cheaper the car gets the more kids can afford them(or their parents can buy it for them). The the image of it being a nice car plummets. Kind of how 350z's and g35's and s2000's used to be "nice cars", now every ricer has one.

Hey now, I'm one of those kids that can afford them!

I got mine with 55k miles for that same price.

There aren't enough of them to cause the nice car image to plummet. I am curious if anyone knows of simular forgotten cars like my SRT-6 (fast, unique, good looking, forgotton, and affordable). If so, I am in the market for a second car. I still can't believe I stumbled upon my SRT-6. A stroke of genius or luck - I can't be sure.

Your right you won't see your neighbor with one unless he liked your's so much he went out and bought one. Also what car would you compare to it? 2016 worldwide and imported from germany with and AMG motor to boot. Not many come to mind for under 20K. A few TT cars out there.

IMHO, with so many forum members customizing them for racing, I believe that SRT6s will become rarer, but maybe not more valuable for many years. Now, don't jump all over me for the racing comment. I can't blame anyone for enjoying that hobby. I just prefer to keep mine stock and clean. Kind of the difference between a 69 Chevelle SS set up for the dragstrip with slicks, rollbar, blower, etc vs a 40-year old stocker that looks new. I just plan on rolling around in mine in 20 years, assuming we can still buy gasoline.

The cheaper our cars get, the more rare they will become. Here is what happens when they get cheap.... Kids buy them. They become modified ricers and some punk kid will crash it into a wall because he is trying to show off. Not to mention these young kids today don't even know how to drive. These cars really crumble fast in accidents and the insurance company will just "total" it. There will be less crossfires on the road as a result... and your mint SRT will become a treasured unique beauty.

Kind of like the old trans ams and fiero from the 80's. I loved them.... but they became so cheap that everyone ran them into the ground. Now it is an awesome sight to see one driving on the road in good condition. Brings you back to the good old days.

Curiosity killed the cat. I searched Auto Trader for the Crossfire with the keyword SRT for "any distance".

Total Hits: 43

Highest Price: $23,995
Lowest Price: $13,995

The car going for $13,995 has 52,967 miles on it. Above this one, there are two between $14-15k.

Wow. Under $15k for an AMG-built Mercedes. That's a bargain. I suspect the low price is driven by the concern for parts and s/c repairs. The delta between the original cost (over $45k) and current price buys a nice warranty. I bought my SRT6 in Jan 2008 for $21k with 8k miles...glad I did and worth the extra money for low mileage. But $15k.....any of those roadsters....in graphite??
