im getting 15mm wheel spacers for the front for my new wheels (which are 45mm offset)

i can't seem to find any 15mm spacers with extended bolts.

my question is, do i need them at only adding 15mm?

 

in a nutshell yes.

 

i got 15mm spacers from needswings and they came with longer bolts..if i remember correctly it took 7 turns on oem bolt and so did the new upgraded ones..hope this helps..

I get lug bolts here. Make sure you order ones with the correct seating (OEM is usually "Ball" / Aftermarket is usually "Cone" or "Tuner"). I'm not sure the length of the XF bolts. but my Benz ones are apx. 39mm. Just measure one and add 15mm to that.

i just got those spacers and they came in today, and they dont fit they wont go over the hub fully because the inside hubcentric part stops it.

 

Have you contacted the ebay seller on this? Do they have a pair that will work with our cars, or have you since found that these will in fact work?

 

If the spacer will not fit on the front, it is interfereing with the grease cap.

Appreciate the info. I found 12mm online at "AllSprings.com". They have sizes up to 20mm!!! These are H&R brand. I just keep hearing horror stories from the local tire companies about vibration and balancing problems. Hoping that won't be an issue with my ride after.

 

Make sure they are hub centric with 66.5mm centers. Get them on flat and the bolts tight and you should not have any issues.

 

what exactly does hubcentric mean? i hear it all the time but never really knew

 

That little lip the sticks out on each hub of your car that your wheel fits so nicely on. Hub centric spacers fit over that lip just like the wheel and then has a lip on it for the wheel to hang on just like without the spacer.

Non-hub centric are just flat spacers and may not line up good and cause vibrations.

 

so only spacers would be hub centric then i dont have to worry about for the wheels correct?

 

For what it's worth, I ran generic spacers on my Ranger.

AND HATED THEM.

Terrible problems with balancing, wheel-bearings prematurely failed, and I had to run some weird lug nuts which (over time) sheared off on the lug.

Hub-centric is the ONLY spacer I would consider.

It's like putting on a well-tailored suit versus an "off-the-shelf" version from Wal-Mart. Both are suits, but one is a suit. The other is simply an ill-fitted overpriced blazer that irritates you.

Hub-centric means zero play in the spacer, superb balance, and no guess-work in installing behind the wheel. Non-centric models must be carefully "eyeballed" until they appear to be evenly centered as your torque the lugs down.

And upon reaching 75mph, you quickly realize that calipers > eyeballs.

 

The rear-12mm Spacers I found are Hub-Centric with a 66.5mm opening, but I need to order bolts as well. Not sure about the size? Any idea's? They told me to just measure my bolds and add 12mm (size of the spacers) to get the correct fit. Sounds like a good idea but now I'm hearing about certain kinds of bolts (tappered ends and such)?

 

i had a 10 mm front and 12 mm rear... (the car is also lowered...eibach pro-kit).

item # 2055665 (20mm) (front) ... # 2455665 (24mm) (rear)

*(equals 10mm or 12mm each side)

the bolts are 1/2" longer than stock and are supplied through h&r.

Andrew, do your tires rub at all in sharp turns or over bumps? I just purchased intrax springs and the same size spacers as you, but they havent arrived yet. I'm guessing my car will sit about as low as yours, and it doesn't look like there is much room between the tire and fender. I don't want to do any fender rolling or other heavy mods. Just out of curiosity, how much did your alignment cost after you lowered yours if you got one. Thanks for your knowledge of the subject.

the only rubbing you will get with the springs... when backing up on an incline while turning the wheels... the front rubs the inner wheel well/top of tire tread.
