to quote a post in a past "why no manual?" thread:

the car is AMG built. AMG cars do not come with manual gearboxes in them.
end of story!

well none of the amg cars are manual and usually only mercedes low end cars come in manual. The higher end cars are auto's. Low demand and volume probably didn't warrant the cost of developing a manual to withstand all the higher hp and tq of a amg or srt6 car.

if you really want a manual..you can probably trying retrofitting in a manual from a c320.

most people who buy merc's are not looking for a race car, they are looking for refinement

Because the srt6 is a girls car, your teenage friends that are making fun of them have it right. Their 5 and 6 speed manual transmission 1994 hondas and dodge neons are the real sports cars and are much faster and are what MEN drive. Not these slow girly srt6's. If I was you I would get a honda civic or neon.

Its not hard to beat a ferrari in a straight line its just everything else that makes it a ferrari that our cars will never be. However, id rather pay off my house and own an srt6.

You kind of asked a question that is asked over and over again by mainly teenagers that think it's not a sports car unless it has a manual transmission. This question gets asked weekly. Since you're new here let me direct you towards an awesome feature this and most forums have... It's called the search button.

Its definitely something companies in Europe have done on the C32/SLK32, I think the cost was around $10,000.

It's because most obese folks driving in the US can only use an automatic. It's hard to shift holding a Big Mac and soda whilst talking on a cellphone which is held between their ear and shoulder.
The US has always been predominately automatic whereas in Canada and Europe prefer manual transmissions. Owner of both a SRT6 and Crossfire (manual). I have to say, I can roast my tires and shift far faster than the clunky automatic used by AMG.

so your reasoning is that they put an auotmatic in a car to make it easier on the obese and then choose to install the worst cupholder in history. yeah the logic is really there.
