Default idea for tapping boost gauge.

so, my boyfriend looked under the hood and wondered if you could tap into the vacuum line coming off the fuel pressure regulator?

just an idea? i know most of you guys would know pretty much everything. my boost gauge is coming in today so we were just looking around and feeling for spots.

thanks!

Vacuum line?? Remove the Y pipe coming off the SC, drill and tap it and install your fitting or do the same thing with one of your intake manifold plenums. Those are the two best places for boost.

Most turbo cars do have the vac/boost gauge tapped in to a rubber line.
Auto meter even includes a "t" fitting in the install kit for their gauge. So it is not unusual.
However - the direct fitting in the intake or runner would be best.

Talking Re: idea for tapping boost gauge.

The hose on the fuel pressure regulator goes to a vent and has neither vacuum or pressure on it. Its to compensate for the elevation and barometric pressure,
