Default Can you help me save my Christmas?!

Hi Everyone,

I have somewhat of an emergency. I was in Temecula at a restaurant. I went on stage to sing some songs and noticed someone grabbed my cellphone from my table. After the song I confronted the person and he gave it back. He left about 20 minutes later. I stayed until closing time and when I was leaving I barely then noticed my Crossfire Key was missing. We searched the whole restaurant and the parking lot. I thought I had in my jean pocket all night, but it may have fell out while I was singing. After we couldn't find it anywhere I thought maybe that same person stole it.

Some people at the restaurant helped me out by callling AAA but they couldn't come for hours, so I just waited in there car. At 4am we noticed a man in a sweater and beanie approach my car. He caught sight of us looking in his direction and ran off.

I finally had my car towed away from that area. Now I'm stuck and can't finish everthing I need to get done for Christmas because I cannot drive the vehicle. I did not have a spate because the dealership I bought it from did not give me one. Also when I asked to order a new key they said it would not get here until January 4th because it would come from Germany.

I am writing this to see if anyone can help me find another key somewhere can I can interface with my car so I can save my Christmas! Please let me
know! Thank you everyone!

I'm afraid your dealer is correct. These keys are not like a Chevy keys where you can just cut a new one. The dealer will need to order one using your VIN.

Sorry I don't have better news for you. Maybe someone else will have a better idea.

I would talk to your insurance agent and see if you have rental car coverage, since some one stole your key, that person might have more information on you, like where you live ? so I would want to change the ignition cylinder, just to be safe, then you would get two new keys, maby the tow charge and other things depending on your coverage, as far as getting a key that is cut the same way good luck ?

Even if a key was available from a member, it has to be programmed to your car.... You never really wanna lose all the keys to a Crossfire. Worst case, the entire security system needs replacing. Best case, a new key can be ordered ($100-150) programmed (another fee) with VIN, the car on-site, and a dealer that won't completely rip you off for the service like the dude that took your cellphone/keys.

In the meantime, see these other "key-related" links:

You are correct chevyboy (kinda odd) the crossfire keys come from ft worth texas we can usually have them in two days, it takes a day to process.....

Just ordered one and it arrived in a day and a half. It came from the following:

Mercedes-Benz USA LLC 15050 Frye Road Forth Worth, TX 76155

You wil need to provide VIN, something to prove you own the car, registration, etc., and a photo ID.

Cost: 150 including tax.

Hope and pray you are not one of the cars that Chrysler lost the key code setting for. If you are well it requires major work.

I would change everything... this guy could come back and steal the car another night. Or he can find out where you live and steal it. I would spend the money and replace everything... otherwise you may lose your car.
