Trading in the SRT-6
Hate to see you go. But undestand the need for a bigger vehicle. My wife traded her NA Xfire roadster for an 2003 SSR with less that 14k miles. We had 3, 2 seaters now we still have 3 but one has a much larger trunk! An SRT6 1993 TT RX7 and now the SSR.

PS I almost bought a 93 RX-7 TT when I was a teenager. I could have easily swung the payments but the insurance quote squelched the whole prospect. Awesome car- HUUUUGE turbo lag. Btw, I traded a Mazdaspeed3 in for my SRT6.

No not at all. After all was said and done it was a little over 18k out the door. I'm surprised about the RX7. Maybe someone had converted it to a single turbo. The Twins spool up quickly and the beauty for me is no lag.
a friend of mine had a '93 Rx7 twin turbo, and it also had almost no lag, as turbo cars go anyway
I think TS should just disclose it and sell it for a reasonable price as was previously discussed ... most people probably won't care too much, and you'd make more than the dealer's lowball offer.

Philly, you will be missed indeed!
I have to say I agree with several of the posts above - keep the SRT, especially since you can't get any decent price for it. If your budget can swing it just go out & buy an inexpensive semi-beater for hauling crap around & keep the less-than-2000-still-in-existence SRT Coupe for those perfect summer days!
BTW, it's IMPORTANT to keep Franc at bay, otherwise he could get loose & armageddon could occur!!

A problem has arisen, however, while attempting to trade it in. While the car has a clean CarFax and has not had any significant damage while I have owned it. The problem is that it appears the driver side of the car has been repainted and the taping looks like it was totally half-assed. The clearcoat is starting to come up in a couple spots; around the mirror, around the door handle, around the rear-side window. I took a closer look after coming back from the dealership and can feel the line where it was taped. I also spotted some overspray in the engine compartment (a minute amount, but still).
To have it fixed would require a sand-down and repaint of that side of the car at a cost of about $1600. Because of this I'm only getting offers of $13,000 to $13,500 on the trade-in value (and still owe 2k more than that). It sucks because otherwise the car is in perfect condition, 17,800 miles, wire mesh grille, bumper to bumper for another 3.5 years up to 62,000 miles, tire-wheel-dent warranty with roadside assist for another 3.5 years.
3 dealerships have all made almost identical offers, although only one took the time to explain and demonstrate the paint issue to me. Private sale is an option, but I couldn't sell that to someone without disclosing that issue and who is going to buy a car requiring a re-paint on 1/3 of it.
I gotta say, I LOVED this car until I've had to try to get rid of it. I can't believe how much the value has dropped in the 18 months I've owned it and how utterly disinterested buyers are in it. Just a disappointing way to end the ownership of a car.
I sincerely thank everyone on this forum that has helped me with my Crossfire. This is an invaluable resource full of great people. I'll still be checking in. After all, someone has to occasionally challenge Franc on the political forums

Well, if that is the listing they're WAY off on mileage since Philly's car had 17+K on it.
Also, what's up with the stock photo?

Take another look at the ad, it indicates 17,000 miles, matching Philly SRT's claim on miles.....Its also located near his residence. The stock ad is probably used, since it was a recent trade. This dealer has another Crossfire for sale.....

I reported the potential issue to CarSense and, much to my surprise, they emphatically said, "We stand by our cars. If what you say is true, we'll work out something so you're not taking a bath on this." Class-act right there. Next used car I buy will be from CarSense.
Anyway, I ended up with an '09 black on black G37x S sedan. I saw the black and red side-by-side and couldn't resist the tuxedo look of the black. The thing is ridiculously nice, but I'm sure I'll be missing my SRT-6. As cheap as they are...I'll definitly own one again at some point.
Thanks for the positive vibes, everyone. I may not own a Crossfire anymore, but I'm certainly a fan and will still be stopping by to check in.
PhillySRT, congrats on the new car. I drove a Q45 for a few years and I must say it was one of the best ownership experiences I ever had. They have the customer service thing down right. Good luck and I hope the SRT withdrawals aren't too bad.
