12.75 @ 109 mph
Well it seems I've gone backwards lol
my best tonight was a 12.75 granted it was 100 degree's very very hot.
have I learnt anything? definatly!
I put 18's on the car all round, does it help. No I dont think so, if anything may hurt, you see having bigger wheels may hurt taking off but should net you higher MPH towards the end.
water/meth kit DOES NOTHING (without having a tune lol) I ran with it on and with it off got near identical times.
I've been bugging Eurocharged to hook me up with there remote tune kit but no response yet!!!! I need a tune so bad lol

When I first got it I thought my car went harder aswell but it was all in my head.
The reason I know it doesnt work is by my MPH on the track I could NOT get over 109mph when I did my 12.615 I had 110mph with just pully and intake.
I know with a tune it would have been great but I dont want to tune my car to have to rely on anything external.
It's not usually that hot down here, and I did let the car rest for about an hour and still got 12.8
I'm organising something with Greg at the moment to hopefully send me the tuning kit, I hope I'll get around 30whp, then I'll cut out the secondary cats, put in a X pipe like we were saying. Buy some drag slicks and I might JUST get an 11.99 ahah

30 rwhp is a bit optimistic. 20 is more likely. torque range is were you will see a big change. 30 ft/lbs or so and from the 2000 rpm all the way to redline. its a flat line.
i would sugest due the distance you are fromn the tuner
do all the mods you are planning that affect the tune. air mods pulleys and exhaust work will affect the tune. try to get it in one shot. cooling mods wont affect the tune. the ecu can accomadate the small changes in some cases

I think the heat got you my friend. I did 12.7 before tune in 97 degree heat at 110 mph....did the tune to what I had at the time, it driopped me 2/10ths, to 12.5. I was stuck there until further mods. I am at 12.3 with a dual needswings cai...now, I will look at cooling mods. But, not for the roadster anymore. I know the roadster has a 12.2 or maybe a 12.1 in her, but my attn has turned to the new coupe. I will use what I learned on the roadster to maybe get the coupe to an 11.99 w/o meth....then we shall see from there...lol....good luck, but I think heat got you more than anything...
doc you need some better weather i believe. look at bmorgans times. he has the c3 and needswings not a whole lot more. some good dr's and a tony tune in borderline dangerous cold wet weather and he cut a full .5 off his personal best!. give him some 60* weather and i believe he is in the 11's with room to spare!
Doc you and I hade near identical temps, and near same ET times with similar trap speeds may very well be the heat.
32 I have a 3" CAI, and the Code3 pully, the only other mods I'm planning is replacing the cats with pipes and adding a X pipe but I dont think that will affect the tune at all. Id hope to get abit more then 20whp but even if its 20hp the torque would be great aswell.
Then I just have to wait for a really cold day, find some nice slicks and I might sniff a 11.99 lol

Have you done any of that Steve? I remember someone on here sent there supercharger away to get ported and polished! apparently does help in the HP department.

after a pulley intakes and tune i believe its the small things that bring out the most in these cars. i have no desire to have the largest pulley biggest intake ect. so im pulling power from little tweaks. as you saw headers are in the works so theres another item to add to the mix. these all affect the tune so be sure you are were you want before tuning!
just workin for the 11.99 so i can concentrate on 170 mph standing mile!!

My best times were after hot lapping and I think it's because if waiting 1 hour or short periods the IAT's actually start out too hot from sitting and cooking without air moving. I have a private track day this sunday (drag racing) and I plan to spray the intercooler with water while waiting to see if it helps. I don't have high hopes for traction because I'm running lots of negative camber. (Just had a solo 1 event sunday and don't have time to realign.) I actually started my laps with IAT's higher at the beginning than while running on the track! They went down under boost! Soooo, heat hurts. Do you data log IAT's?

I have a DashDaq that I bought from Needswings. It plugs in the OBD2 port under the dash just past the hood release. I data log engine coolant temp, timing advance, speed, rpms, throttle position, boost, IAT's. You can log a whole bunch of different things. If nothing else you learn a lot about the car. For instance how timing is pulled and the throttle is partially closed at WOT shifts.

koveleski the maxbore is a great way to enlarge the the t/b for a very reasonable price. they enlarge the inner body approx 3 mm to 77 mm and builda nd install a new butterfly. gasket match and shipped in the us is 125$!!! turnaround time is 2 to 3 days.
im just waiting on tony to return to atlanta so i can retune on the dyno soon after its done.
as a comparison an oem t/b is 74mm. the maxbore gets you 77mm for 125$ and the 80 mm runs somewere north of 750$. so for 525$ you get 3 mm! my opinion is unless you are running the biggest mods available ie 185 or stacked meth or nitrous the 77 mm bore will be more than enough airflow for the c3 setup. again just my thoughts

I went on maxbore's website it looks like they do great work, Should pick up a few ponies but the best part will be the sound difference I think it will make.
