NW Dual Intake First Impression
Ok i finaly instaled my dual NW intake, i previously had the SL55 intake and the first thing i noticed that was different was the addictive note of the supercharger whine. If not going full throttle the sound comes at different times depending how i pushed the throttle. Pushing the throttle in a certain way where the car is gradualy accelerating not too spiritidly the whine is alot louder and profound than other techniques. I noticed under full throttle the whine is always there. I noticed under full throttle its always amazing
In terms of power it felt very much the same as my SL and that was no surprise to me. This evening I took it for some proper testing.. I managed to grab my mate with the 135i who i have tested my car with every step of the way from stock form to now. After a few digs i realised i had to change my technique as i am now getting increased amounts of wheel spin. Im still getting used to that. So that led me to timing my car to see If my times were any different to before. Usually i average 4.5 to 60 with my last setup and with this intake i was averaging low 4.4s and dipping into the 4.3s. The feel from the dig race and its only perception was that i was now pulling harder from 2nd. In contrast to past experiances i felt i was pulling in faster now. Does the ECU need time to adjust to the intake meaning in a couple days perhaps it will be quicker? Overal im really happy with the intake it looks great in the engine bay and sounds fantastic

I would not be surprised at all if your times dropped even further.

As I understand....the PCM is continually adjusting all it's parameters. I know other's as well as me have had gains over continual use of a CAI while the PCM "learns".
The throttle reset just recalibrates the throttle pedal to the throttle body, effectively wiping out it's history.

Do you have pics? Can you post the thread/link as to how you found the kit? Did it have everything you needed for correct install? Any fabrication? Ordinary tools to unistall stock and install NW?
Thanks - seriously considering as you may be guessing.

Everything is included....even the little insert tool to remove the MAF.
Search for pics....i'm not gonna do everything for you.
Machine grey came out Only for 06 Built models I believe we have accounted for about Thirty 06 models Ever made through this forum. I have seen one other guy on this forum from the states with the same colour. Jjkii just buy the intake u won't regret it, intake is the best first mod for these cars as it's very restrictive

Excellent writeup on the dual NW cai!
^^^ Yep, don't wanna threadjack... my wife has an 06 machine gray srt6 coupe. It lives the pampered lady-driven garaged life (16k on the clock). She loves the pink srt8 challenger coming out, if you have a good offer let us know via pm...

SRT6shadow what have you done to your SRT-8 that's DAMN fast lol
Lacerdashoon noticed anymore improvments? should be getting better and better the more you drive

I took my 06 SRT-6 to the track today with my new supercooler and Needswings dual CAI. I posted the worst times I've ever done. But I saw more concrete barriers than ever. It seems like I was facing the concrete barrier more than the finish line. I called it a day after the 3rd pass. The dual adds huge torque down low. I over powered the tires every time my foot went to the floor in first and second. And third felt squirrelly too. So, to add to the review of the dual, just do it. But it will cost you in a dedicated set of drag radials.

Its been raining cats and dogs for the past couple days so i havent been able to test the car. I really think I can improve my launches (Driver Mod) which should give me better times alone. Hopefully the ECU will help out too! There is deffinately more torque down low now. Are u still getting a tune?

Les, were you running with the T/C on or off....if off, turn it on....it will more than make up for it kicking on and off....I showed this to Johnny at the Dragon a few yrs ago....and hope I made a believer out of him. Without it, you will be around before you can react. Been there done that...spinning isn't fast, traction is....lol
No tune. I have the aluminium code3 pulley and Needwings dual CAI. Lots of suspension work for road courses. My tires are Michelin Pilot Sport Cups (265/35/19) and I have some negative camber in the back for the road courses. I got sideways in first, let off, got sideways in second and was looking at the concrete wall. After the third run I threw in the towel before something bad happened. I need to get to my normal dyno to document the increase if I can but all preliminary indications are that the dual adds a lot down low. I even had traction control intervention with it turned off.
I was running with lots of real nice and fast cars and I was embarrassed by my poor showing. But they are all fanatics and were very kind and non judge mental. You know, saying things like, coņo, que torque tiene el carrito! (Dang, that car has TORQUE!) My car is set up for road courses and it must have affected traction. The track seemed to be well prepared. I saw lots of cars in the 11's.
