Srt Finds A Deer
Came very close to nailing a big buck on Friday morning on the way to work. Saw him out of the corner of my eye scrambling up a bank out of a field, he hesitated for a moment at the edge of the road, and decided to run out in front of me. I was on the brakes as soon as I saw him and got real lucky - close enough that he threw mud spatters all over the front of the car and widshield.
THat is not a total to me, just grill hood and trim, power train and body is fine from the photos. These are going to become part stores for other cars. Woody
If a deer runs in front of you, hit the brakes and then the deer. NEVER SWERVE< kill the sucker and not yourself!!

Couldn't have said it better.......
Well that just sticks! At least it wasn't yours. Glad deers here are the size of dogs.

It looks like the cooling system will be pushed back into the engine. We see that frequently on cars hit above the bumper.
All of the front upper structure will need to be replaced. The upper rails may have been pulled in too but that would probably fix.
Once the fan gets into the engine accessories it'll tear up the blower clutch, A/C clutch, air recirculation system on the engine, and possibly the oil filter housing.
I can't tell by the pics but it may have tossed an air bag. Doubtful, but possible. it depends on if he was wearing his seat belt.
That stuff adds up quickly and these cars don't have much value.

From the depth the hood was pushed back looks like it voided damage to the engine block...and hopefully the S/C.
Since it seems to have rolled up over the hood (as is generally common in deer collisions) seems as though the frame will be intact. If the frame is left intact and not damaged at all, I do not see this being a total loss.
EDIT: If it is a total loss I would like to know where this goes from the insurance company and who will auction it off. It looks as though it would be very beneficial for a parts car for anyone interested. I know I'd buy some pieces off of it.

What we see here is what I described. We've got a SRT-6 in the shop now but it was hit in the rear.
We're a Mercedes dealer body shop but we work on just about anything from time to time.
The really sad part is because these are so limited in production, parts are almost impossable to find. With all of the totals I have seen through the years you have to wonder how many are left. I guess this will increase the value of the truelly nice examples remaining. Between the totals and those that have been abused it is hard to tell.
Just a prefessional opinion from an insurance adjuster... That doesn't look like a total to me. It was a high hit, so no frame damage. Fenders look like they still line up and didn't get bent much. Looks like it needs: Hood, Grill, Lights, Bumper, Radiator Support, Condesnor, Radiator, Fan assy, maybe a bumper reinforcement... Of course there are sure to be other small items needed. With the number of crossfires I've seen wrecked lately, recycled parts shouldn't be a problem. The car has a retail value of $15000-$18000. It would take at least $8000-$10000 for it total for sure...
Condolences, man. I live in fear of this type of $hit, or even a dumb teenager talking on her cell rear ending me. But as a parts car, those rims still look gorgeous.
Man that really sucks! I really hate to see this. I can't believe that it was totaled........people are saying parts car, I'm thinking that someone that wants a SRT6 could pick this up cheaply and fix it themselves or have it done. This would be the perfect platform for a V8 (Hemi) conversion - a true hotrod without the e-nannies! Better to make it live again then to strip it then junk the rest.
...just my $.02.
Again, sorry for the loss!

It's hard enough keeping an eye out for the TXTing teens.
