Default Those with LET/Eurocharged tunes...

I should be picking up a car in the next couple of weeks with a LET tune on it. Are all these tunes custom per the car or are most of them pretty standard? I emailed Eurocharged, but I would guess it will take a while to get a response.

Also, are most of these tunes built for 91 octane...or for race gas?

Just curious what I am getting myself into with this car. I am a big fan of street AND track cars...and if these tunes are pretty extreme (like needing 93 or higher octane or shortening the life of the engine) I may have to get it retuned.

Just looking for experiences good or bad...

my tune was done a dyno with tony fine tuning the ecu as the runs were made. you can also get a "canned" tune based on your mods from e/c . you should ask which your car has.
my car was tuned for 93 octane because there are only a few states that just have the 91 as the highest octane available. (ie: cali, az)
if you plan on modding or racing i would suggest some form of datalogging system so you are able to see what the car is doing. as for retunes i believe the cost is about 100$ for a retune based on datalogs or dyno + dyno time if thats how your retuning

I have a LET tune on my Aero and have been VERY happy with it....... mine is not a dyno tune... I sent the ECU in for the 'custom' tune to match my mods and then had it re-tuned once with input from a dyno run..... I drive the Aero around town and at the track when I get the chance.... you should not have any problems with the car due to the tune.....well, maybe you gas mileage might suffer...

something else to consider is were was the car tuned? if the tune was done in colorado then the car is run in fl i expect the tune to act differently due to the altitude changes?

I forgot to mention that I use 92 octane in normal use as that is our premium in Oregon.... I mix 110 race gas with it for track days....

I know for sure the car was tuned in FL...no idea what kind of octane situation they have down there, but here in NE we only have 91 octane, unless you want race gas.

Looks like it was tuned here (Custom Tune by Jerry at LET): https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...or-sports.html

So I'm guessing 93 octane? Should I be concerned about using 91 octane all the time?

You should be fine with 91 octane. You definitely do not want to re-flash that tune. If it was done in Florida at a group day, the owner dropped in the neighborhood of a grand for the custom tune with dyno time and everything. If I remember correctly, that car has a NW CAI and a 178 pulley (or was it Code 3?). Either way, with that tune, the car should run like a raped ape. Try to remember to do a TB reset before you take off on the trip back, and just try to wipe the grin off your face.

LOL....yeah...I wasn't going to say anything, but the car apparently put down astounding numbers with very little mods (NW CAI, Code 3, resonator delete) and that tune. Something like 355/348.

Maybe I could use the 91 octane and then use some of the actual octane boosters (not the fake walmart ones). If it actually becomes a problem.
