Default The Aero with Eibachs...

I put the wheels back on the Aero and took it off the blocks so I could see how the new Eibachs look and then took it for a drive...... The front is about perfect for me.... I have 10mm spacers in front to clear the C32 calipers.... the back could go down another 3/4" or so..... I am planning on putting 285/35R19 on when its time for new tires later this year..... I dont notice a real difference in ride or handling, but I was just driving on the highway....

The front looks good! With larger rear tires next time, it should fill in the wheel openings very nice.

Nope.... I'll wait till I put the bigger tires on and see if it needs anything in back..... with 285's I dont think it will.....

Looking good Mike! I think you'll find that your car rides better with the Eibachs. I couldn't tell for sure about the handling, positive or negative, but after several trips to the race track it became clear that the car was slower with the Eibachs. Not much, and I doubt most people would notice but still slower. Most people love them and I think you will too unless your participating in HPDE, Solo 1 or autocross events. I can't think of a better spring for the street, but even the stock springs are better for the track. At least in combination with the Koni's.

MikeR,

What wheels do you have? they look so similar to the SRT wheels, how wide are they? what shocks are you running?

They are factory SRT wheels......stock sizes... I have Koni adjustable shocks in the back and stock shocks in the front (for now).....

I also used the stock spring pads in front and back... I will get the 1 dot pads to replace the 3 dot it has now... that will get the back end down another 1/2"?

Many of us have removed the stock center caps, and are using MB center caps with exposed lug bolts. Here are a few examples:

I didnt even notice the center cap removed and exposing the lugs. That does look sharp. I may look into doing mine this way. I really like that blue MB cover. Anybody know where I might pick one up at?

Looks great man!!...

Do the Eibachs have any "filler" coils that could be trimmed. I put some H&Rs on a Mazda of mine and the rears had three or so coils at the bottom which were there primarily to keep the springs located when the car was on a lift or a jack. They really have very little strength(you could compress them with the strength of your grip). I trimmed one coil to bring the back level with the front. It worked for me.

No filler coils... a direct replacement... you wont be able to compress these without a spring compressor or a jack.....

Hey Mike, do you think the larger tires will actually fit in the back? Isn't there a chance that they might rub with the springs in? The reason I ask is because I'm about to lower my car as well and if I could put wider tires on the back and know they wouldn't rub I would do it for sure.

I'm using 265/35/19 in the rear which is 8 mm taller than stock. I had Eibachs with dot 1 pads and 2º negative camber and the only rubbing I saw was from the negative camber. I think a 285/30/19 with a stock alignment would fit easily.

It seems to work for those who have gone with the 275/35 or 285/35... as you can see, I still have a lot of room under there and it only adds about 5/8" to the inside and outside....more tire outside the rim..both sides...
