"Raced" what looked like a 2009 or 2010 all-black (except for the wheels) Saleen Mustang in Longmont last night. No idea which version it was. Except for the first two seconds or so I had him all the way to 100 mph until I backed off. We were on a straight double-lane street in a semi-residential area. My SRT-6 coupe is stock (except for the batman stickers). I continue to be impressed by the amazing performance of this vehicle, which I have now owned for almost three weeks. I think the driver of the Mustang was really surprised.

 

I thought this was about the huge buzz over the mustang that got stolen out of a trailer at an ocala, florida race track...

apparently it is a ridiculous race mustang, twin turbo, looks that could kill...

sorry to get OT, congrats on surprising the saleen...don't forget saleen mustangs don't always mean that there is any work performed under the hood, it could be all show. the full saleens are pretty ridiculous with their eaton blowers, etc. congrats either way.

 

no disrespect to you or to your car but if it was a real 435s it should of pulled you. 435s' run in the high 11's, the s281 runs low 11's. those are the only two models saleen has for '10. they no longer do the S packages (S1, S2, S3, ect...) of which the first 2 are looks only.

 

Like I said, I don't really know which year or model Saleen Mustang it was, other than that it was relatively new. I was ahead of him, but not by car lengths. It was relatively close. Still, even with 435 hp, the increased weight of the Saleen Mustang compared to the SRT-6 is probably what made the difference. Anyway, I was surprised by how well the SRT-6 did.

 

I got reeled in by a Terminator yesterday not sure the specs on the new Saleen's. A vert at that!!
