SRT6 oil changes and car cost ??
What is the average cost of a dealer oil change for a SRT6 vs a NA car? Is it enough of a reason to avoid an SRT6? My head says go for the AMG huffer if the price allows us to, we have a set limit and maybe we will stick to our guns.
Have a line a 05 SRT6 with under 30K miles, no price on it yet, provided the car is nice what would top dollar be ? Roadster with auto trans
Please give me input and lots!

average price is for an oil change depends on where you take it. i have heard anywhere from 105 to 200 at the dealership. as for the price of the car you should be able to get it for anywhere from 16 to 20 thousand depending if its at a dealership or privately sold and possibly even cheaper then what i told you. just depends where you live really

Oil Changes normaly run from $89.00 as some dealers to $140.00 at others. Shop around.
Remember, changes occur at 7,000 miles not 3000 so the double cost is made up for inthe longer miles.
Just be sure they use synthetic. Mobile One W 40 is the reccomended oil but some dealers are using other brands. I haven't heard of anyone suffering from non Mobil oils.
Car prices for an SRT verts with those miles have been as low as $15,500 and as high as $23,000 this year.
Wholesale and loan value play a part. KBB is $17K to $20K last time I checked. Wholesale/Loan value is generaly 66% of that.
Buying from a dealer?
Ragtop SRT's are the rarest. If you pass on the deal, post more info as many here are interested in a vert.

yeah i would run the 0w 40 mobile one but i have heard of people using 5w 30 with no problems at all but use whats recommended to prevent possible problems in the future
I followed a black SRT 'Vedrt today in my town for a few lights, it made me question my decision to get a coupe car
I was in the kid mover so I'll bet the mid 50's female driver was wondering why me and my daughter were gawking at her

you can do the oil changes yourself easily
cost
5 bucks a quart*8.5
17 bucks for a K&N filter of Amazon
one time cost of a Topsider pump.
I'm very warry of letting somebody who changes oil in 100 cars a day screw something up on the SRT-6.

Does that pump get all of the oil out, as good as the drain plug ? Then what about chassis lube, is there any grease zerks under a Crossfire? I would only have my local MOPAR dealer do it if I didn't, FWIW.

I would consider running a mix of Mobil 0W- or 5W-30 and 0W-40 in my n/a engines, but the SRT6 runs hot and I would stick with 0W-40. But since I cannot find 5 qt bottles of the -30 anymore, I am going to stick with 0W-40 as recommended by Chrysler.

With my oil and filter, my dealer service shop charged me $24.95 for the oil change. They told me they do have Mobil1 0W40 and the full charge using their oil is $99.00. That's really not bad when you consider the 7,000 mile service life.
Gotta shop for oil prices. I asked at a local auto supply and they told me they have an every day price of 6 bucks a quart for Mobil 1 0W-40 if purchased 24 quarts at a time. Not a bad deal. Check around.
Sometimes you can find the 0W-40 around $4/qt on sale (stock up big time). Mann filter on-line for $15. Local shop labor = $15. Total= $62 (you only need to put in 8 not 8.5 qts) FSS will let you go over 8,000 miles. I'm at the 60,000 mile mark now ...original owner with LPW.
I just did the math for my S2000 $56.13 in parts
6 qts of Mobil1 5W-30 @ $8.19 ea from Autozone online today
Filter Fram @ $6.99
4,000 mile change interval
Cost per mile = 1.4033 cents
And for the SRT-6 $86.20 in parts
9 qts of Mobil1 0W-40 @ $8.19 ea from Autozone online today
Filter Fram @ $12.99
7,000 mile change interval
Cost per mile = 1.2314 cents
Surprisingly, the SRT-6 is about 12% cheaper per mile because the 54% higher parts cost is more than amortized by the 75% longer change interval. Obviously, the answer changes if you can get one oil or filter for a lower price. But the real lesson is that the SRT-6 is not much different from other cars and possibly slightly cheaper.

LOL - I guess that's true - 15 grand for a nice car and worry about an extra few bucks for an oil change. oh well.

I made one phone call and saved 48 dollars on a case of oil. WTF?
Please go back and read the original post and then rethink your response to my post - thank you very much.
