So im going to get eibach springs
So im going to get eibach springs
I might be doing them myself. Not sure. So after reading previous post im still somewhat confused as to what i need. Where can i purchase pads and will they really make a difference in height? Do i really need wheel spacers? As of right now im just thinking i need the spring compressor pads actual springs and some good tools. Btw i already know the stock springs are considered to be better. Im just looking to lower the car a bit without comprimising ride quality. I do care about handling but ride height and stance is my main concern. I heard good thing about people cutting their springs but i still wouldnt want to do that. So am i missing anything else or am i good to go?

Re: So im going to get eibach springs
I just finished doing mine. I actually did the springs a few weeks ago but needed to change the rear spring pad/isolator from a 3 dot to a 1 dot to get it lower in the back. I also added 12mm spacers in back. I had already added 10mm spacers in the front for my C32 calipers. So here are the pics of how it sits now with stock tires and wheels........and a fresh bath from the local high school pep squad......
Tools: spring compressor, 17mm, 19mm and 10mm socket and ratchet, 19mm wrench. Having a medium sized philips screw driver is handy for alignment of holes......

17mm wrench for top oif the shocks 16mm socket and wrench for bottom bolt. 13mm deep well socket for sway bar clamp to lower a arm.
auto store spring compressor wont work. you need the european style. theres 1 for sale on mbworld for 135$. great tool once its figured out!
rpatton has a set of srt-6 springs for 125$ shipped you could get and cut. cheaper and better than the eibachs. pads can be had online or at the local m/b dealer. on jhm2k's car we used #2 on the front and #1 on the rear. full coil cut srt-6 springs and it rides amazingly well . looks amazing.

Re: So im going to get eibach springs
I'm willing to part with my Eibach's if you want them. Used for less than 500 miles, price depends on shipping. I'll pass by the post office tomorrow to see if I can squeeze 2 springs in one of those flat fee boxes. If I can the shipping is reasonable for me and I'll ask less for the springs.
The Eibach's ride better than stock SRT springs and make the car look good. I took them out because I'm more interested in high performance handling and my times at the track didn't improve with the Eibach's. So I cut my stock springs and swapped out the Eibach's.
