Shaved tires for autocrossing for no cost ... almost
Late in the season I decided that I needed replacement tires but did not want to pay much. Went to Ebay and found that there are loads of tires for sale that are used. TAAA DAAAA
Well that is great as they are 3 or 5 or 7 or 8 or 9 mm high tread and on discount. So they are lower tread tires at partial prices and any size for the track and all good brands with biggie sizes.
I got some 255/35/18s for the front and 275/40/19s in the rear for several hundred $$ which is more than 1/2 off the regular price and they will respond better from the get go. You can find some bargains if you choose to look, Taa Daa.
Enjoy, Woody

Woody, how the heck are you running 255's in the front?
I just put new 235's in front and have 10mm spacers(due to brake clearance) and still get some rubbing when I turn tight......

Been racing the 245/40s and dooing the math the 255/35 has the same radius of turn / fender length. Well see how it goes and yes I do the 10mm with 35 mm offset. Woody
Pushing the envelope I guess.........Ha

Agreed...I just buy used tires 'cause I'm cheap though
. I have been buying used tires off of eBay and a few places for a couple years now. Good deals to be found on barely used tires.
