Well, years ago, a friend of mine bought a new 68 Camaro RS. This was his first new car and he washed it just about every day. We went out to a club one Saturday night, and this guy pulled into the next parking spot next to him in a Plymouth GTX as we were getting out. He flung open his driver's door and dented the passenger door of my friend's Camaro. Well, needless to say, my friend was 'upset', and he confronted this clown, who laughed and began to walk toward the club entrance. My friend snapped off his radio antenna and whipped the paint off his hood and roof of this guy's GTX...while he watched.
Nothing happened (physically), as the guy must have thought my friend was losing it. Anyway, we had a good laugh about it later...and I thought the smart *** deserved it.

I try my best to park out as far away as possible. In nearly three years of Crossfire ownership, I have been lucky and continue to knock on wood.

Another thing that really gets my blood boiling is:

I go down to the last space so there is no way a car can park on one side. Then I pull as far over to the curb or wall as I can to allow maximum space. Then some A-hole pulls in and instead of staying in his space, straddles the line, totally defeating my efforts. I risk my rims, he gets the benefit.

Ditto, I ALWAYS park the most farest away possible. And never park next to shopping cart drop off points in the parking lot either!

What would you have done in this situation?

This really angered me, I will be parking away from other cars now going on.
At your age one of us would have ended up in the hospital and the other in jail and I would have felt justified in my actions. These days not so much reaction. Life is not fair and from time to time things like this will visit each of us. All you can do is chose where you park wisely, dont mind the long walk and never take up more than one space. If you can get by the initial anger things will work out.

I was driving down the interstate and one of the vehicles ahead of me kicked up a rock, or it fell off a truck. It hit the hood and made a chip. I didn't say or do anything to the rock. It's just a car. If you drive it, it will get dinged, nicked, worn out, beat up, faded... Just have fun driving it and don't worry about the small stuff.

There's not much you can do unless you can chase him down to pay for paintless dent repair.

Or just let it go and be satisfied in the thought that there's a seat reserved in hell for such people somewhere right between Hitler and child molesters.

Paintless dent removal is pretty cool, but with a black car, you need to find the Michealangelo of spoondom

lol. no doubt...i took the black 6 out one time when my bro and his wife visited (a holiday excursion to bevmo) and parked 50 yards from anyone. no problems. the rest of the time it stays in the garage, other than warm up runs around the orchards. the graphite gets driven way more often and i always park away from everyone. so far, no problems. i haven't driven the 4runner since the summer so it stays in the garage. i did use paintless on my '03 tacoma for small dings a while back and it worked wonders. our work car (my wife and i work at the same site), which is an '07 scion tc, has one small parking lot ding which will be removed over the holidays (using the same guy).

I did my Cadillac a few months back (kind of a metallac dust color, they call gold) It looks a lot better, but when the sun is dead on it, you can see little bumps where the dings were. I think PDR is more of an art than most people realize or maybe my guy was just a little lazy or not very experienced.

Same thing happened to me, but the rock broke the windshield and another dented the hood. Came from the same truck, I made it known that something had happened and got him to pull over, his trucking company paid for all the damages (over $1,000) as they should have.

Sometimes it is not about worrying about the small stuff, it is about what is right and the principle of it. I am not going to roll over and be screwed because someone makes it a little difficult to get proper restitution.....

good job Johnny...nothing can legally leave the bed of the truck...now if it is kicked up off the road, he is off the hook...otherwise, it is a "leaky" load...same goes, for "no" mudflaps though...so, if he kicks up a rock without "mud" flaps, he is liable...and the guy who opens his car door and bangs yours, is liable as well...just put that .40 up side his head 'till police arrive....lol....it's just getting to be that kind of world I am afraid...

I was being a smartass. In your situation, I'd have likely done the same thing.

45ACP in those situations is just a little more effective. Colt 1911A1 of course.
