SRT6 power issue
i bought a crossfire srt6 about a month ago. even when i press the acuator only about 10% of the time do i get the total power i should. the other 90% (while pressing the acuator) i can feel it drop the gears but it seems like i have MAYBE half the total power.
On a side note, when i DONT have it pressed it seems like 50% of the time i dont have the power i should... it drops a gear (even when the acuators not pressed) and reves to 3k, and slowly to 6k. the other 50% of the time it feels like its working normally.
Any insight as to what is wrong, or could be would be a thousand times greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks,
Kittens

I don't totally understand your your post but if it's doing what I think it's doing it sounds like it's time for a new intercooler pump. Do a search for ic pump and see if it is the problem.
A lot of us have replaced our IC pump's because of this problem.
My dealer paid for it but we had to go through his list of things to check first before he eventually got to the pump.

No doubt in my mind. From what you describe the Intercooler pump,
sometimes called the Auxillary Water Pump, is failing or has failed on your
car. It is an easy job to replace it yourself, or even easier if you have an
extended service contract.
I've had this problem twice (think I was the first to report it) and it can
be a real pain when you want to accelerate quickly and then it just seems
to bog down. Get your IC pump replaced and all should be good. You can
go for the manufacturer pump or get the Johnson pump from someone like
Needswings.
Good luck,

I also believe its the IC pump. The car has to be well warmed up before it cuts out.I have a certified car so its got a couple years of warranty left.I took several postings from this site to the dealer. That did save some time so they could figure out that the problem was the pump.
If it only happens when the car is warmed up, and then goes away "on it's own" when the car cools off, then it is the IC pump. Mine failed on a trip to Hamilton ON and I could feel it disengage (then the car had less power than my roadster) but after 10-15 miles of driving the engine would cool off and it would suddenly start working again. The car was under warranty so I printed out a couple threads describing the problem and had the dealer replace it. It took them two test drives to establish the problem -- they did not get it hot enough the first time and this was the first SRT6 they had seen, so they were unfamilar with the issue. But they replaced it two years ago and it has been fine ever since.
Terribly sorry to have revived this... It seems there's some confusion on which pump they are looking up in the computer. The pump you all were talking about is roughly 150. 2 different dealerships listed pumps from 600 to 2600 (without labor).... can anyone list which pump is the one used for the supercharger? or a part number...
i told them it was the intercooler for the supercharger... since non of them knew wtf that was i assume i was wrong.
thanks again!!!

Also, I wouldnt buy from the dealer. You can get them substantially cheaper on-line and the replacement is as easy as changing your oil... There are 100's of threads here, many with pics of how to do it if you search.
