MB museum visit and pics
Visited the MB museum today, big deal around here for two reasons, first MB HQ and factories here and secondly, the car was invited here 125 years ago this year.
The museum is well worth the visit. The audio tour has tons of information. Many “first” in the automobile history were invited in this area and thorough out MB history. Lots of culture and time period info besides just vehicles. Some very nice displays and full range of vehicles, from early cars, to first trucks, to buses and race cars. The one labeled oldest is the oldest original MB around today. Anything older then the second car are replicas.
Not sure how the pics will upload lowered quality to help get more in. The engine is a 1st gen Supercharged engine put in the white convertible as the first production car with supercharged engine…xfire grand father. The race rig and car won race after race in 55. The silver race coupe was to race in 56, but MB pulled out of racing. The car ended up a test bed and personal car of MB president! Nice daily driver.
Way too many displays to post. I will hit the AMG factory soon!

I visited there last February with some of the German Crossfire guys. We had a great time and it is very impressive! Takes most of a day to see it all. I will be there again in August and hope to meet up with Eugene (Max) and see his V8 Crossfire!

Great pics!
Great pics!
The original survived until 1969 and then they scrapped it. It was reproduced in the 90's like you see in the picture.
