The motion detector in the oem anti-tow system is pretty sensitve. I took the ferry from Muskegon to Milwaukee on a calm day and it was not 15 minutes beforeit hit a hit a larger wave and it went off. I was paged to the car deck and had to turn it off. But I got to meet two new XF admirers -- some of the ship's crew.

This sure is an active forum! It's great to see so many "compliments" and no "complaints".

I love this car so much, the more I see the more there is to love.

You are right about the winter switch for sure, I had no idea what it was before. Once I found out I put it into "sport" mode and since I did that is when I noticed it was giving me more umph.

You actually can bypass the security system but it means sacrificing a key for the RFID, taping the RFID to a bypass module and stashing it somewhere in the firewall. But since this security system is so top notch, I don't really see any point.

I really would like to get some sort of remote start though. One of my keys is dead anyways and it would be no problem sacrificing it since all it's really good for is opening the doors manually anyways.

If any of you guys have done a remote start let me know what you went with and why please!

The winters out here are RIDICULOUS and nothing would be nicer than having a nice warm car ready to go by the time I got outside. Not to mention, it's best to warm up your car for 10 minutes or so before driving it anyways. It warms the oil, lubes the engine and expands the metal to optimum mode, letting me jump on it as soon as I hop in and head to work at lightspeed

I am definately going to look at some upgrade options now that I'm saving $1000 on a security system.

I think I'm going to save up a bit and go for a massive upgrade that way I might be able to work out a cheaper deal through the combo package, plus.. I'm going to have to travel to get it done so I want to get as much done at one time as I can.

Thank you guys for being so active! I'm thinking about becoming a super user because this forum truly is a godsend!

I'll post pictures tomorrow

Cool Re: New SRT-6 Owner *Perma-Grin*

You may want to save your $1000 for gas. It's amazing that the news was predicting $5/gal. months before any of the mideast turmoil started. How did they know that?

I just saw something I found kind of interesting.
You referred to the transmission switch as Winter switch and the "S" as sport.
I always referred to it as, W = winter and S = summer.
I know what the manual says just found that interesting
