got 60 looks on the thread with no help. any one here close?

if anyone is in indy and can give me an honest opinion about the color! this car keeps drawing me back!

Even though I'm not close to Indy, I'll would give you an opinion on the color. A neighbor had a SLK, with the identical color that he kept it spotless and it was a nice shade of dark teal, it was really good looking. The ad looks good, with low miles. MB had a lighter teal color that was plug ugly.

I would imagine Johnny will beat me to it. I can check it out Saturday, I'm on the road this week. Isn't the price a little high for that year? Tom Wood is always high on their prices. I could never deal with them.

 

yes doc they are high on the price. but they have had it for almost 2 months and im one of the best at betting a dealer down!!
if you or boiler can just eyeball it for me i would appreciate it. i just cant get any decent foots that show the real color.

no need to doc. john gave me a full report and based off that i made them an offer which they rejected. they are firm on their price and feel it will sell in the next month. i wished them well but no way im paying 23k for that car (or any 02 to 04 ) for that matter. so the search continues!! not many out there in the web world so ill be patient and when winter hits ill steal a beauty from someone!
btw if they think they are delusional i had a dealer in chicago offer me an 02 with 12k miles on for the low price of 29,800$ !!!!

 

No, they are that way with everything they sell or don't sell. My good friend, owned the dealership next door, as well as the Harley shop next door. Same age as me and passed away last year....hell he was in better shape than me...anyway, his sons, whom I never knew that well have taken over now, or I would see if they could help. We will keep looking for you....

 

Here are the prices at Manheim Market Report. Not many on the block so dates go back 2 years which is very rare----may not help much, but if a car man hears that you are looking at "MMR" he know that you know the inside of the car business---these numbers are where the "Black Book" wholesale book comes from---Good Luck!!! The one on 11/05/10 at $16,500 is near the miles and not that far away in time---what difference in time will be balanced by Spring coming up---so close---hope this helps. Jimmy

thanx jimmy! i viewed the manheim prices earlier but these high end dealers think they have gold! yet they cant believe its 700$ to fix the seat heaters!

Stay in the game. They just may be calling you in 2 months. My Dad was super patient and always got bargains. If it wasn't a bargain, he wasn't buying. Sometimes it took a while, but he never closed a door. He always ended with "call me if you change your mind" He got plenty of calls.

And yes, they think they have gold, but when a car hits 60 and 90 days, the car must go or the floor plan will charge a 10% curtailment fee---few if any dealers do that!!!!!
