Goodbye Fan Module and Fan Controller...
so after the diagnostic today the radiator fan module and fan controller are toast! FML! Just sparks as w\he tried to start it up. Plus I need a new 50W fuse as well.
No wonder I'm not getting any cold air and my temp gauge is hot.
Plus the coolant light issue is a WHOLE another issue they say. It could be 2 sensors or it could be the wiring, but they need to take off my wheel, fender liner, and possibly my cluster. F That!
Sorry for the rant, but can anyone point me in the right direction for the fan module and fan controller. Dealer wants 1K for both.
TIA.

you obviously have a cooling issue and not an alternator one. i'd have gone down the former rabbit hole first and the alternator would have been my last on my malady list. so i'm guessing no extended warranty and all that? heat kills, so you've got to address that.

I haven't read all of the posts and cross-threads on your issue, but has your fan been replaced under the Campaign
#TBS: 30-Mar-06 - E19 - Campaign - Cooling Fan and or Motor Assembly Replacement
If it wasn't, maybe a bad fan took out the controller?
Or has this already been suggested?

Now I wonder if the smoke was from the fan going out which may have blew the alternator or vice versa.
I have no picture, but it is the tan colored box with cooling fins (heatsinks) mounted on the wheel well, driver's side. Right behind the headlight housing.

They gave me a part # of 5101095AA and 68017820AA
Mine say:
Fan (whirly thing) A202 500 78 03
Controller (Electrical bit) A025 545 59 32
Hope this gets you there!
Has the fan been replaced under the campaign?

As for the fan campaign Chrysler ran my VIN # and said no such thing came up? Is their a website or documents I can show them?
Thanks guys for the help much appreciated.
Those are the correct parts and numbers I gave you (now in the correct order owing to a corrective nudge from north of the border).

Although in the pic the fan controller is on the passenger side it seems instead of the driver side maybe its different with the SRT. Does that seem right on both?

Sorry 180, item #1 is the Alarm module.
Fig 8-405 Item #8 is the Module,Cooling, Cooling Fan Motor Control #05102818AA.
And Fig 7-110 the radiator fan is item #9 Fan,Cooling #05101095AA.
Softball, you should be able to find the parts and install them yourself in 30 minutes or less. Including the 50amp fuse in the distribution panel right in front of the electronics box that has the ECU, BCM and RCM in it.
Good luck.
