Default Anyone used the LM-2 datalogger from Innovate?

I just received the kit a few days ago, I bought it to datalogg and send Jerry the file so he can retune my car.

However it's giving me some weird results e.g. it's telling me the car revs to 10,200rpms

I sent the files over to Jerry so I'm hoping he can make sense of it all.

If anyone has the logworks program please let me know I'll send you the file.

I suck at this datalogging business I just want my car to be fast thats all

John.

It may be set up for the wrong number of cylinders.....

The Zietronix does the same thing if set up wrong... I have to set up for 1 to get correct RPM... this is because we are only looking at one cylinder

Oh really? I noticed in the RPM section it goes from 0 to 1 and 2 I think!

Mines set to 0 I'll try it on setting 1. Thanks Mike!

I wish I bought a Zeitrnoix, the instructions on this LM-2 are rubbish.

It has a menu where it says RPM Source: 0 = Analog Input & 1 = Inductive Clamp

any idea which one it should be? I'm assuming 'inductive clamp' whatever that means.

And then it says RPM Polarity: 0 = Rising Edge & 1 = Falling Edge

Then it asks to select RPM Scale: 0 = 10,230 Max & 1 = 20,460 max

Then it asks for RPM Calibaration: 1 = 0.5 Pulses Per Rev, 2 = 1 Pulse Per Rev, 3 = 1.5 Pulse Per Rev, 4 = 2 Pulse Per Rev, 5 = 2.5 Pulse Per Rev, 6 = 3 Pulse Per Rev, 7 = 4 Pulse Per Rev, 8 = 10 Pulse Per Rev, 9 = 12 Pulse Per Rev

Man I justed wanted to log some basic parameters like A/F, RPMS, IAT & engine load.

I didnt realise I need a science degree to operate this thing

I've looked through all the instructions but there not user friendly and I dont get them at all.

If anyone knows about these settings pretty please help!!!!

John.

John,
Where are you getting your RPM signal from? clamp on spark plug wire? (Inductive) signal from ECU? (analog?)

RPM polarity = 0 should be good

RPM scale = 0 should be good too since you wont be going over 10230rpm!

RPM calibration is the one you will have to play with to get the right rpm.... like picking the right number of cylinders... Just change the number until you get your true idle rpm....720ish?

Good luck!

Haha thanks Mike I'll need the luck!

Jerry from Eurocharged recommended I get the LM-2 so I hope if I can't fix the settings he will be able to help.

Thanks again for your help! I love this forum!

I use LM-2 around 2 years. You can send me your log file and I will correct the value and send back to you.
How many value you log from the LM-2 OBDII ?? I'm always log RPM, VSS, IAT, ECT, MAP and A/F.

Hey there I'm currently trying to log RPM, IAT, Engine Load and short trim fuel (which is what was requested by eurocharged) the the A/F but that's not being read from the ECU.

Should the RPM function be set to Analog or Inductive Clamp or should that function be disabled? (the manual is confusing me even more)

Im sure the LM-2 is a good device but when you don't know how to use it it's very frustrating.

Now to figure out how to attach the log I did today.

John

I think Inductive Clamp means one of those plastic clamps you put around a spark plug wire (timing light).

1. Did you install "Logworks3" ?? This is LM-2 software for the log file.
2. Is your LM-2 support read OBD-II function??
3. Are you install O2 sensor already and calibration it already?

I always get the value by OBD-II interface and A/f from LM-2 O2 sensor. You can select the
OBD-II item in the LM-2 OBD-II setting. You don't need use a analog input to get the RPM,
OBD-II can provide RPM too.

VSS : Car Speed
ECT: Engine Coolant Temp.
IAT: Intake Air Temp.
MAP: Manifold Absolute Pressure

Those information to Jerry is enough.
