Talking MIKER hit my rearend ! YOU can get some too: Details follow

I decided to get the rear adjustable camber bars from MikeR and wanted to do a review with photos for you, so that you can check out the effort and benefits.

To start I just pulled the rear tires off and then began to remove the UPPER control arm that is responsible for the camber adjustment. The photos show the stock bar in place and the installed new bar. To remove the bars, you need to just remove the inner and outer bolts, there is no real tension and the arm swings out with minor effort.

The photo of the cardboard shows the sizes of the fasteners and the needed bolts and torx bit needed to remove the bar. Nothing is torqued too tight, so you have no problem getting the parts off and on.

I pulled a “Woody” by taking the stock bar and laying it next to the new bar. The new bar length is adjusted until it is the same and the bars are attached temporarly with the factory bolts. Being the same length TO START WITH, you have no issue with the alignment and can reassemble without doing any adjustment. I left mine stock for now and autocrossed it to see that everything works as intended.

The turnbuckle design is easy to adjust in or out and I added a yellow stripe to keep track of adjustments so that I can change the camber back to street or for the track. You only need to loosen the lock nuts and then rotate the bar with the FLAT spot provided by Mike.

I took a spin on the driveway to see the alignment patch. You can see that the inner side of the rears are darker and more heavily loaded than the outer edge. This would have you adjust it for less camber for drag racing. ME, I am going to go for more camber as Iam racing on a ‘roadcourse’ and need more camber.

You have the capability to change yours to your liking. My car is BLACK and quit powerful with all the new goodies but my suspension is SRT springs at stock height. Now I have another goodie to adjust, yo yippie.

Please look at my album and see all the photos as I can only post 4 in this thread. I did the passenger side in 40 minutes and the driver side in 15 ( took much longer cause one nut slipped against the brake backing plate and drove me nutz – a shorter trip these days).

Hope you enjoy the photos and mikes work.

Woody

Very nice write-up Woody, as usual. Hope to see you at Carlisle.

Is there enough room between the camber bar and the sway bar on a lowered car?

Woody I had the same thing in mind when I change mine over. I am going to adjust it to the exact length then adjust it exactly 2 turns longer and see how close I can get it to 0° camber. I like the look of 0° instead of any neg or pos. I don't race so it is just a matter of looks for me.

Thanks for the info and tips. James

PS I was hoping to see a bunch of anit-seize smeared all over to make the next adjustment easy...

I'd like to add this to get 0 camber so my tires last longer...

James, there is plenty of anti-seize on the rod ends...

Two turns is 4 turns on a turnbuckle..........Start with one revolution and see the thread pitch is ??????? Mike can tell us, anyway its Stainless and strong - solid. Glad I did it. Thanks for the design MikeR.

The rod ends are 18tpi so that is 0.0555" x2 = 0.111" per revolution on the rod.

You're welcome Woody.... glad they did what you needed... I like your label on them....

MikeR, glad that you liked the labels, was an old inspiration as shown below. This way I can keep track and go from street setting to camber of my favorite setting for track. Woody
