Default Manufacturer for shims

Found someone to mass produce the shims to our spec. I have literally searched for weeks and had no luck other than the option of having them made. They require a $50 minimum to order. Any vendor willing to place a bulk order and sell them to the SRT / AMG communities? Everyone wins.

Reminds me of a deal I saw on Graveyardmall one time. They had 10,000 watch batteries for around $200.

Why is there a need for them, cant they be obtained from washer suppliers, they are just spacers and dont have loading on them. Never knew that there was a need for more.????Woody

Heck you can make them with paper and scissors for gosh sake, more is thicker and such like that......

A few people that have bought 2nd hand 3C pulleys didn't get shims with them. I know the dealer doesn't sell them separately, but not sure why a similar product can't be found like you said Woody. I measured a few with a micrometer and they are various paper thin sizes, so not sure what this place is going to make. It's not gonna be a money maker for anyone, but may help a few down the road. Also, might be beneficial for EC to pick them up if they ever release a s/c pulley...

I have searched online as well as around Tampa and come up with nothing. I sat in front of a bin filled with hundreds of washers in various sizes and it was like finding a needle in a haystack - no way I was going to find many in the same size to share around the forums.

I contacted 3 companies, and only one of them was willing to take on such a small order. I have absolutely no interest in making a penny off of these but I also didn't want to be out $50 and have an extra stack of shims sitting in my garage.

Seeing that people are actually interested I will go ahead and take the leap.

The company is Shim Shack and the dimensions I submitted were "40-32-0.010” MILD STEEL." I will order today if the consensus is that these sound like the proper dimensions/ materials.

Iam totally serious about shim paper. Woody IBM cards were 0.0075 thick and work in many applications.
