Default Hello - New SRT-6 Member

My name is Berry. I recently, Saturday, became an owner of a 2005 Crossfire SRT-6. Being a Honda/Nissan guy, I was a little skeptical at first about these. Seeing the reviews I was not certain whether or not I would like them. But I do not take much consideration on reviews, since everyone seems to know everything.

It is a slick looking car and definitely is fun to drive. There are a few minor things that need to be fixed. Tabs for a panel in the trunk, headlight bulb is out, cracked fog light lens and bulb, and possibly a good interior cleaning.

From the quick searching and looking around the site, this seems to be a great car community and everyone seems fairly friendly. Of course, coming from some Nissan forums, anything would be better. :-)

Looking to learn as much as I can and hope to keep the car in the same shape it is in. STOCK!! hahaha...

Welcome to the Forum. You're going to LOVE your SRT-6! oh man, I remember when I first laid eyes on the Crossfire Limited Coupe and just the curves and style that it had, then later on I heard about the SRT6 model which is really a Mercedes Benz SLK 32, and that SUPERCHARGED engine, you're going to have a blast with it! theres little problems here and there but its nothing a good preventive maintenance can help stop anything that may arise or in the future would be otherwised bound to happen. I'd use the search feature, there is loads of info and how to's with just about anything you'd need to fix, and of course save money! Certainly a great support of members here that know their stuff and a wonderful design and speed to match that will last a life time if taken care of, not to mention, will give you a permagrin when you press the pedal! I love my SRT6, check out my album and be sure to get some pics up when you can!

Oh I have to ask, what kind of car did you have beforehand? I noticed you said you're a Honda/Nissan guy. Have you ever owned a 350z?

For some that seems to be an issue here.

Welcome and be sure to keep lookin' around the site. Soooooo much to learn and discover about the car and the owners!

Thanks!

I do not like being a newbie! I cannot find the multi-quote anywhere! Hahaha...

I will go ahead and say sorry for the many quotes! haha

I am in the Tennessee, Smyrna/Lavergne area.

I guess I should start searching now. Where/what is GTG? Some sort of drag/auto-x spot? It will be cool to meet other members and see projects and what others have done to their SRTs.

I do enjoy saving money. I have spent enough money between all of my cars, I could have afforded a Lambo by now! Okay, maybe not a Lambo, but a couple very nice Evo's! haha...

I am looking forward to everything this site has to offer. I am about to spend some time and search!

I am already having a permagrin just when I sit in the car and turn on the A/C. The last cars I've had, I removed the AC... The smallest things make me happy, but pressing the pedal down and feeling the amount of TQ/HP this car has is definitely exciting!

I have not owned a 350z, but my sister has one. I have a boosted 2002 Honda Civic Si, which is my pride and joy. I also had a boosted Nissan 240sx that I built myself (among tons of other mods to many to list). I am now the only one in the family who has a Euromestic vehicle. Being an import guy, I don't want to call it a *looks around* domestic.

It is a coupe. I am not certain the correct color code, but it is the light blue.

Thanks for the welcome!

They are referring to HWY US 129. Lovingly named the "Tail of the Dragon". I can't imagine a tuner from TN not having heard of it. 318 curves in 11 miles. Ringing a bell? It's a great place to test yourself on some twisties, if straight lines aren't your thing. And good luck keeping it stock......

Thanks!

No worries about the "ricer", you will not be the last person to say that. I am sure you have seen many poorly modded imports and this is why you have this view, but I definitely like the "sleeper" status and cannot stand real ricers. :-)

I will always be a Honda fan.

Trust me, you won't see me in the political section at all. I will only be in the political section if a title catches my eyes.

TN... and light blue would be the best way I could describe it without knowing the paint codes. Haven't made it that far into the search yet. haha...

OOOOH! Yeah, I have heard of the Dragon. Never heard it called GTG. I have never been daring enough to go there, but heard stories. haha...

I have to keep it stock. I have to get my EP (chassis code for my Honda) finished up. Since I no longer have my Nissan 240sx.

GTG=get together. And your coupe is SSB=Sapphire Silver Blue in color. I would say sell the Honda, pay off debts, and buy the pulley/tune kit along with a dual CAI!!!!! Buyist opinion though, as we have two XFs.

That is funny! I am actually in the boro now. My A/C is out at my house and is too hot to stay in right now, so I am at my parents house.

Sounds like fun! You guys go to Belk's on Fridays? I have not been and want to get out there one of these days.

Yeah, it is really just small things that need fixing. I did discover an issue with the passenger seat belt not pulling out and the E-Brake cable has snapped. The previous owner has the 100k mile warranty that I want to take advantage of. I have to complete a form and send it off. Then take it to a dealership and pay the deductible, $100, to have them fix it. And I am going to have to invest into some new front tires.

Thanks! I was not a fan of the SSB at first, but it is a cool color now! I have seen several Crossfire's over the last week or two. At the time, I could not tell the difference between the base and SRT6, but I am sure I will soon know how to tell. Maybe I can make it to the Dragon one day.

LOL! I may just take you up on that sir! However, I have built a motor for my EP that I plan to make 500 whp. I am definitely addicted to modding already!

haha... I am fortunate enough to not have too many debts that are troubling. Other than the house payment and lowes/homedepot/hhgregg/roomstogo cards. I take full advantage of the year no interest credit cards!

"I sold my Honda"=something clever. lol. I just saw your avatar, you have an Aero Blue, not SSB. And why does everyone find the color I couldn't.
