Default NA vrs SRT Fogetaboitit

So, last nite after a long day Crumpy and I are headed home. She in her SRT and me in the NA roadster.
She is stopped at the light to get on the highway as I pull alongside doing about twenty MPH. The light goes green. So I hit it.

Now we often play this game and she always wins but I have the jump this time. Maybe I can beat her to the end of the on ramp.

As I check my mirror,,,hot damm, I did catch her by surprise. I am halfway down the ramp and she is just getting up steam. A quick glance forward and then at the speedo. I'm approaching 80 MPH.

Her SC is screaming, a look in the mirror. Crumpy is now about 4 car lengths away and sucking up half the air in the county.

End of the ramp is coming up fast, I'm going over 90 MPH........... and she just whizzes past like I'm in my old pedal car.

RATS!

Foiled again. Sometimes I feel like Wiley Coyote chasing the Roadrunner

At least she has a cute butt.

Guys, I'm fairly modded and pushing 285 HP or better, She's around 400 HP. Even if you cheat, there just is no way to make an NA beat a SRT6 without Rudy's transplant.

What's that cost again?

My NA SE Roadster has the power and handling to out run the traffic I get in. SRT6 is overkill. Gary

I get that a lot from NA guys. Used to bark it myself. False bravado.

And now, as it happens, you could've had a V8!

Franc, Let me get this staight in my mind. You started first - got way ahead -- but she ended up finishing first anyway? Tell me please how do you do it?

I beg to differ... the little extra "umph" is a great to possess at any given time

I would hope so.
You had BETTER get there FAST, with no seat on the Triumph, couldn't go for long.
( seriously, is weight savings that important ? )

( This from an old AMA amatuer that used to run Triumphs on the 1/4 & 1/2 mile, and once at Daytona on a 500 )

Whoops, I put the seat on. The claimed dry weight is 360# with 108 hp. Never measured either but an Incredible ride on the street. gary

Motorcycles aren't that hard to beat. You just have to give their rear tire a little tap with your bumper and they slow down immediately.

Cute butt? Are we to assume you're complimenting Cathy or complimenting that excellent looking wing on the back of her car?

I think Carroll Shelby said it best, "too much is never enough".

Frank at least you have an SRT in the family. Its killing me when I see what that black SRT just sold for, and when I think how much I have spent to make my N/A turn and stop and for what??? could have given mine away and added the difference.. I keep telling myself how great it is to run through the gears,,,,,,hey, walked away from a Ford Explorer on a sweeping entrance ramp this morning
