I was loading my golf clubs into the srt6 and a couple came over and started admiring my car. It's an 05 and I thought that was the only year it was made? They told me they had an 04 srt6. I figured they didn't remember and had the year wrong. I started questioning details about their X, .....super charger, fixed wing, etc. and they're like yes yes, 330hp.
They also mentioned their hatch was bigger and more rectangular. Was there 04 srt6's? What's the scoop? THX

Most were manufactured within 2004, but sold as 2005 models, so I guess they were looking at that date. NO 2004 year SRT6's. They are mistaken!

There are only a few 06 SRT's

 

Supposedly 330, but really 349. Mb didn't want to share. '05 & '06.

 

I always suspected a conspiracy. The n/a uses the same part number ECU that is used in just about every MB that used the 320 engine. But the SRT used a different ECU than any of the 32 AMG cars. I thought maybe that detuned just a bit so the MB buyers wouldn't feel bad about getting their doors blown off by a Chrysler.

 

I have an '04 SRT6......but it didn't come from the factory that way.
