Default Question on AMG Wheels

I see some members with AMG wheels on their SRT6's , do all AMG wheels fit our cars? I especially like the wheels on a blue srt6 that is in the member's sig but I dont recall his username.

They aren't just for the SRT guys either Most sets will require spacers, depends on which model they were made for...

Various AMG wheels will work. If you're not against using spacers, your selection expands greatly. Front fitments whould have a wheel width narrower than 8.5" and an offset between +35mm and +30mm offset. Mine are 8.5" with +32mm offset and the fit is perfect.

Rears can be as wide as 10" as long as your lowering isn't extreme. OEM suspension allows more room for error. Rear offset should be as close to the OEM (+22mm) as possible. Many Mercedes/AMG wheels are 9.5" wide, +35mm in the rear. The new C63 AMG has insanely shallow offsets... +45mm IIRC. +35mm with a 10-15mm hub-centric spacer (eibachs are best) will bring you back to OEM fitment.

The only rear AMG wheels that will work without spacers are SL and CL fitment... CLS *MIGHT* fit... these are +25 offset and normally 9.5" wide. SL63 wheels are gorgeous and are 19x9.5" with +25mm offset.

Majority of other AMG wheels are shallower offset (>+35mm)

One other thing to keep in mind, is the bolt size. Some of the bigger Benzes use 14mm wheel studs, while we use 12mm. Replicas normally cure this issue, as they will make SL reps in a 12mm bolt fitment. Be sure to check and see if they use ball-seat lugs as well, otherwise you'll need new lugs.

My Mandrus wheels are built exclusively for Mercedes cars, and they utilize a 12mm cone-seat lug bolt.

I am running SL550 wheels. I may be wrong but I thought the rear wheel offset was +17. Most MB wheels don't need a front spacer as our front wheels are very similar to MB wheels. I am 8.5's with 235/40/18 on the front and using 20mm spacers in the rear with 9.5 wide wheels with 265 40 18' tires. And don't even consider the new C class wheels as spacers aren't even available to make these work. My wheels are real MB wheels, but my last set was replica. The replicas were very good quality. there are a couple of good sellers of MB replica wheels on Ebay I think the one I bought from in the past was OE Wheels.

Mine allowed me to take out the spacers I was using in front and back.... fronts are 18x8.5 ET35 and rears are 19x9.5 ET35..... I did have to put taller spring pads in the back to get rid of slight rubbing on fender edge when I hit bumps too hard... but that is also do to the 285/35 tires in back......

I went old school Mercedes with mine. 18X8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear, no spacers and no rub. I run the same set in chrome for the street and silver for autocross.

It is kind of hard to see the wheels at speed. I would love to see what you are running if you have a picture at stand still?

What wheel studs sizes are you using? I couldnt find one that fit and needed to trim all the studs.

No spacer required.. but different wheel studs.. i remember the tyre shops needed to trim some wheel studs to make it fit.. The wheels came from SL55..

255/40/18 x 8.5 offset 30mm
285/35/18 x 9.5 offset 33mm

I will have to check ,,Checked , i did have a 20mm spacer on them to make them look better on the fit , when i removed the spacers ( can't drag with spacers on the rear) i had to remove about 10mm of each lug bolt, about 20 seconds on the grinder. not using studs,

After grinding the studs did the spacers fit back on? Could you have just bought different length lugs?
