Mine is now at 82K. I bought it a year ago and have had two problems. A $20 idler pulley, and the falling out back window. Since you don't have a Roadster, that isn't a concern.

If you have a problem, or see something that worries you, this is the place to get good information.

With some miles, the piddly things get taken care of, and yours is likely to be trouble free for a long time.

Drive it; you'll love it!

Michael

Whew... I am so glad to hear, something positive today. I recently purchased my 2005 xf, it is being delivered in the next few weeks. This forum has been very helpful in getting to know the car. However, it has also made me wonder if I made a good decision or not. I love the car, but was getting a little uneasy about it and reliability. It will be my weekend car.

These are reliable cars. There are individual cars that appear to have more problems than the majority just like other car models. This car is a tank, solidly built and assembled very well using reliable parts.

You hardly ever see the word rust on this forum, except for the bottoms of the doors and that is a minor problem and fixable.

never had a problem mechanically with the xfire but I have been smacked once in the front driver side back in '05, been smacked in the passenger side rear in '11 and closed the back hatch down with something to big and broke the rear window in '08. So if I would stop getting hit or stop breaking things the car would be fine.

I did see an '05 silver in the garage in downtown Reno yesterday. It was covered in mud and looked like it had been hit twice in the driver side, once in the front and once in the rear, both wheels were cockeyeed and I have no idea how it was still driving around!

Bought the SRT used, 20K miles, in 07. Replaced the IC pump shortly thereafter but that's the only problem. Autocrossed hard for 4 seasons. No issues, mods added, regular maintenance. L O V E this car 52K miles on it now.

Nothing major on our 07 Machine Gray Limited Coupe. Bought it with 1500 miles on it. Now has approx 11,500. 10k in just a little over 3 years of ownership. Completely satisfied and in a state of "permagrin" !!!

Got mine with 12K in February. It's my daily driver w/27k miles now. Previous owner changed battery in 2010. This coming year I will replace OEM tires all round (rears down, fronts OK), OEM front brake pads (dust), steering stabilizer & intercooler pump (no problems with mine yet; just a precaution).

If I get adventurous, I might change to Koni adjustable shocks to deal with our local Mad Max interstates.

Have had ZERO problems with my SSB 2005-SRT6. Only the E-19 fan control module recall was done, which affected all Xfires. Stayed stock as I mod my other rides. Don't mess with a good thing, I always say. SRT6's are good things.

My Limited Roadster is a 2005 model that I purchased new in July of 2007. Yep, it spent two years bouncing around dealer lots. The paint was sort of a mess when I got it but I managed to buff all the swirls out of it, no problem. Since then, even though it's only got 17,000 miles on the clock now, I've had zero problems of any sort with it. Seat heaters work fine, rear window is still firmly in place.

I have changed the NAV head unit for a Blaupunkt unit, installed Eibach lowering springs, and recently put new wheels on the car, but those are all things I did because I wanted to, not because of anything going wrong when it shouldn't have.

I am a long time Mopar owner and this thread is encouraging, I am about to purchase an SRT-6 Roadster and after being on this site for a few months, I was having some concerns about reliability.. Forum members are eroding my slight fears..

On the graphite, trans connector leak (fixed before delivery). At approximately 4.5k, differential began to make a harmonic at 70mph. Fixed under warranty. No problems since.

The black one had the rcm go out at around 400-500 miles! Fixed under warranty. No problems since.

None of the usual maladies that affect our cars have surfaced on mine (ie; pump, etc.) and I *have* been driving them this winter on dry days. I love driving each of them...a lot...I'm just keeping the mileage down in case of future resale (you never know...).

Bought mine a year ago at 42,000 miles, I am second owner.
I have had NO problems, other that the stupid cup holder is a bit touchy.
I have, however been somewhat pro-active, replaced all filters, bulbs, rotors, pads, did the RCM resolder,
and put on a new set of Hankook's
Only updates I have done are NW CAI and Alpine head unit.
I also refurbished the headlights and fog lights, and put Morimoto HID's in the low beams.
The battery is now 3 yrs old ( a Deka ).

THIS IS A VERY RELIABLE CAR, IN MY OPINION

I bought mine with 11,000 in 06. Now it has 79000 and runs great. I did go through some tough months with the ECU cold solder problem where the car would not start at random times. I found a post here on the forum that showed detailed photos on which connection to resolder. Been perfect since including a few weekends racing with the sports car club. Gotta love this car. Wife is unhappy that the drivers seat heater stopped working. With her knee issues
I have suggested it might be good to get a taller car. Still a strong NO is her reply. No other car in my life has given so much pleasure for so little expense. Even the expensive tires are worth it every day. Any other car with similar ability will cost much more to buy and maintain

I have missed the power and throatiness of a V8 and will to look into what that costs!

Bought my 2005 in 2008 with a little over 9k on it. Just hit 50k this weekend. tranny leak early on, probably from never being driven, only regular maintenance really.

I bought mine in 2009 with 23k miles. It now has 47k and is driven daily. The only problem thus far was the muffler hangers (donuts) tore and had to be replaced. Also replaced the center mounted brake light (was very dim). These cars are built solid.

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to post on the subject of reliability of their Crossfires. I bought my graphite grey SRT6 over Thanksgiving holiday with 37k miles.I love the car, but regular visits to this forum were beginning to make me worry about potential issues (ie. Limp Mode and others). Reading these endorsements goes a long way to reducing anxieties. These are really fun cars to drive!!!

Starting buying crossfires in 2006. I do all maintenance, repair and mods. I have had 0 running issues. I do not race them on the strip or track. I play on the street. I preserve them with Waxoyl.gary
