Default BMW 550 kill

Yesterday I drove from the Stuttgart area to Speyer, a town on the Rhine. It is a cool town, with a great museum. Great planes, trains, automobile, motorcycle, Russian space craft museum. If link does not work and your interested in it just Google it, it comes up with a English website.

Anyway the wife was with a girlfriend shopping so a friend and I drove up. Like most people he didn’t have any idea what a SRT-6 was and how few they made. I explained how the motor was made about 10 miles from where we were and all the other details we like to talk about. We cruised up the highway around 100 mph in the normal flow of traffic. On the way back two BMW’s were running up the left lane and driving like asses really. I ended up behind a black 550 at about 100. I was 3 car links behind him as traffic opened up I knew he would hit it. I went with him without going to WOT, I could see the traffic ahead and we weren’t going to get far, I just wanted him to see me. The 550 was a “riced” out version with go fast visual accessories. On the mechanical side it at least had pipes as it did sound good. As the last car moved over and the road opened up he hit it with me 3 links back. I shot past him by 130 and run off to the limiter at 155 (mine is still completely stock).
Once again the sleeper crossfire struck. I’m sure he went home and tried to figure out how a crossfire spanked him so hard. Good ending to a good day

Actually those are pretty resonable and safe speeds for the Autobahn. FYI, I was stationed in Stuttgart years ago.

Wouldn't a modified BMW be more "schnitzeled out" than "riced out"?

Guess I should have said "spaetzle" out. That is a delicious potato noodle that make here. Such good food and beer! Going on the 19th day below zero t hough, which is cold for a southern boy. Looking forward to summer and beir gardens.

When you mentioned that you haven't risen the 155 mph governor on your SRT6, it reminded me that I want to raise mine, but I have been reading all over the XF forums for a while now and I can't find anyone who has taken the governor off. I'd imagine the car would do 170-175 mph stock without a governor. I asked a few shops and garages in my local area to take my governor off and they do not want to mess with it. Any ideas?

And as for you and the BMW 550 on the Autobahn, I would have loved to seen that!
