Hello all, I am sorta new here. Bought my SRT6 last fall and joined the forum but have never posted anything til today. I read somewhere about getting a engine plaque from Karmann but after much searching I cant seem to find the info. Does anyone know any details about this or know if its still possible to acquire the plaque? Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

Geez, I don't know. Since Karmann went through its restructuring, I don't think anyone has gotted the customer care kit with the stickers and stuff. Sorry, bud.

 

I also tried to get the package a couple of times with no luck, I think that the chance of getting anything is nil now.

As far as I'm aware Karmann never provided engine plaques for the SRT6. If you're asking about the AMG plaque on top of the superchargers that our cousin's the SLK 32's have, well AMG wouldn't lend their name to the red headed step child. I know of 3 Crossfires with AMG engine plaques on their superchargers, but they have V8's!

 

It may have been a plaque that was on the supercharger, but i know that at one time you could send them your vin and they would send a plaque that would have the build number/ total number made, (ie. #? of 928 for roadsters) as well as the vin engraved on it.

Those are aftermarket. Karl (SRTSIX) offered a couple of versions as well. I have the last version he offered on my SC. I think the one on your link is offered by he who will not be named.

 

Oh, OK. I'm sorry. AMG builds the SC's. Karmann assembled all of the body/chassis for the Crossfires. They offered, if you asked real nice, a set of stickers and stuff. This is what I thunk you were asking about.

Actually that is what i was originally asking about but I seem to have mistakenly combined two diffferent things

 

That pic on the link is of another badge that a cr00k sold for a while. The stickers and little Karmann badges haven't been available for a while now. You may still be able to get one from SRTSIX, slightly different info, better overall appearance IMO.
