A while back I bought a spare supercharger with very low miles just in case my 90K mile XF needed it one day.

I've been having some issues lately with low power (7.8 @ 90 in the 1/8 mile), and my boost doesn't seem to be where it should. I've been suspecting a sueprcharger-to-head gasket leak.

Moreover, I've been needing to remove the TTM prototype fuel rail and install the final version. Steve's sending the prototype back to Bruce.

Anyway, I wanted to do as much work as I could before Steve came by this morning to do the swap, so I did.


A big thanks as usual to Steve for coming by and helping me out this morning. Real pitty we couldn't hit the track afterwards.

And by the way, the car will run better if you connect the MAP sensor.

Sometimes I wish I still lived in Tennessee, or had a garage, or, or, or ....... Just out of curiosity, did you change the supercharger oil? Did you take a look at the oil in the old one? I ask because I'm thinking of changing mine just to check it off the list of unknowns.

The old fluid in the new SC was very clean, but I changed it anyway. The oil in my old SC was changed out a couple months back and probably still looks good (haven't looked yet).

Move on up Less, we'd love to have another car-guy in the area.

 

How do the 90K rotors look?

 

Are you going hog wild with the old one? Having it rebuilt and ported etc? Just curious ..... I would.
