Okay - battery disconnect for servicing...help pls...
I'm going to tackle some electrical issues and was wondering about disconnecting the battery.
Some shops utilise a "trickle" charger to prevent them from having to reset things after a disconnection.
Thsi sounds like the "ultimate" option as nothign is changed whilst you have the battery disconnected....however I can see it still leaves the potnetial for damage...after all it only takes a spark......
My in fear is that my TCU and other stuff will be reset after a certain amount of time after disconnecting the battery.....and it will have to relearn everything.
If I dont go with something like the above - how long do I have before things start reseting?
What do others do to prevent this?...trickle or other?
